Dick Van Dyke and his wife, Arlene Silver, celebrated Halloween in style. People Magazine has reported that the pair threw their annual spooky bash, dubbed Halloween at Vandy Manor, at their Malibu, California home on October 31. This year, Silver, 54, made a grand entrance dressed as Ursula from The Little Mermaid as she lip-synced to “Poor Unfortunate Souls” with an entourage of Vandy Manor Dancers. Dick Van Dyke, 99, watched his wife from one of the wings as she danced for the children of the neighborhood. Fans have since begun wondering about the legendary actor, comedian, director, and producer's net worth. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Dick Van Dyke boasts a staggering $50 million. He is most known for his work on musical films like "Bye Bye Birdie" (1963), "Mary Poppins" (1964), and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" (1968), among others. Dick Van Dyke shows off his dark humor ahead of his 100th birthday: Speaking with People Magazine about their annual Halloween bash, Silver said that there is one misconception about Dick Van Dyke among the general public: “This is part of Dick that no one knows about him,” she said. “People associate him with Christmas, but he's totally Halloween all the way.” She recalled how he told her that he used to “have the thing on the street” back in the '50s and '60s. Their parties initially started out with a few monsters and casual decorations, though it has since evolved to include realistic animatronics, puppeteers, and belly dancers. “We did a lip sync on the porch — on the steps in the middle, the front — and people loved it,” Silver recalled of their first few parties from over a decade ago. “And we did it 10 times, and Dick was like, ‘Oh my God, we got to get a stage. We got to get lights.’ So then I started doing that.”In recent years, Silver has continued to build on the stage performances, which she said have become a fan favorite. “We have a little bit of everything,” she told PEOPLE. “The stage show is more of a variety show, and it's more for kids. Little kids can come — sometimes little kids were too scared for the big monsters — and now almost everyone is in costume. That's the thing I love. I love that everybody's in costume, and Dick, he loves to watch the show. I'm his favorite. He sits there and watches my show.”In other news, Dick Van Dyke is merely weeks away from celebrating a triple-digit birthday, though according to People Magazine, he thinks it would be funny if he died before then. “That’s right. I’m not officially 100 until Dec. [13]. Two months. Two months," he reportedly joked a few days ago. “It’d be funny if I didn’t make it.” He and his wife were at the Vandy High Tea event in Malibu, which raised funds for the Van Dyke Endowment of the Arts and the Dick Van Dyke Museum. The project is currently in the works. “I brag sometimes about how I made it to 100, and the truth is, if I had known I was going to live this long, I would’ve taken better care of myself,” Dick Van Dyke admitted. “And it is frustrating because I don’t know what I did right. Other than her [Silver], I didn’t do anything right.” Stay tuned to SoapCentral for more.
