Once the adorable toddler witch who enchanted millions, Erin Murphy has kept the magic alive in her own grown-up way. Best known for playing Tabitha Stephens on the 1960s classic, Bewitched, she just turned 61 and is celebrating the milestone with plenty of gratitude and a career that reaches well beyond the small screen.
Erin Murphy, now an actress, business owner, public speaker, and devoted mum to six kids, co-owns Slim Chillers. The company is known for spiked ice pops. Erin still stays busy in show business with voice work and the occasional on-camera roles.
Now living in sunny California, Murphy has turned into a friendly regular at fan cons and charity get-togethers. Her Instagram feed stays lively, and on June 17, 2025, she posted a beaming birthday selfie with the note,
"Rise & shine, its my birthday! This is 61. ❤️".
Her followers rushed to the comments, sharing warm throwback tales about the little girl who twitched her nose and made the world blink. Work and screen gigs aside, Erin Murphy still feels tied to her Bewitched beginnings.
In 2019, she slipped back into Tabitha's shoes, if only for a quick turn in the witty web show TV Therapy, where cartoon characters spill secrets on a couch. More recently, she's spoken candidly in interviews about the set, the cast who raised her, and the twists of life after living inside one of TV's biggest spells.
“Dick York is a better Darrin”: Erin Murphy reflects on Bewitched's legacy

During a rare chat with People Magazine at the October 2024 Last Chance for Animals gala, Murphy addressed a debate fans have tossed around for decades: which Darrin-Dick York or Dick Sargent-was the better TV dad.
“I will give you a scoop. My entire life I have been so diplomatic because I loved them both,” she said. “They were wonderful guys. Watching the show, Dick York is a better Darrin.”
She elaborated on the bond she shared with York, telling People, “Dick York was a dad, and he had a lot of kids, so he was just more paternal… So he was more like a dad. Dick Sargent was a great guy, and we stayed in touch until he passed away. But I’m going with Dick York on this one.”
Erin Murphy also spoke fondly of her close off-screen relationship with Elizabeth Montgomery, who played Samantha Stephens, saying to Studio 10 in a 2020 appearance,
“She was like a mom to me, and I loved her very much.”
Erin Murphy, who first stepped into the role of Tabitha back in 1966 alongside her identical twin sister Diane.
