Jason Biggs on his struggle with addiction
Jason Biggs opened up about the gravity of his problems with substance ab*se during his podcast appearance on June 4. Biggs shared insights into the cycles of regret and compulsion that he went through while he was deep in his addiction.
While speaking to Lorre, the American Pie actor went on to give details about an incident that was reflective of the challenges of compulsive substance use that he faced. During the podcast, Biggs recalled that one day, he decided to put a stop to his habit. He decided to get rid of the stash of co***ne that he had and threw it in the garbage. However, his attempt at saving himself from addiction failed as he decided to retrieve dr*gs from his garbage. He shared,
“There was still some co*e left in the bag, but I was like, I got to get rid of this co*e. So what I do? I go, throw it in the trash. I think it started with the trash in my house. Within 15 minutes as soon as my last bump is wearing off, I’m like, what I am doing? And I go to my trash, and take it out and do a line, and I am like, I got to get rid of this.”

Biggs went on to share that after his failed attempt, he decided to throw the dr*gs in the trash bin outside his house in order to stop himself from retrieving it again. However, to his own dismay, Biggs revealed that he salvaged the dr*gs he had thrown out from his neighbours trash can as well. Recalling the incident in detail during the podcast, Biggs shared,
“And so I went outside to the trash bins, you know, you have in front of your house in LA, and I threw it one of the trash bins, and I am like ‘okay, I am done’, and then I went upstairs and I am sitting…you know I was like ‘you know what, one more. One more. One more.’ And I went outside, I got and I climbed like into the trash bin, and got the bag of co*e out, went upstairs and did another line.”
Jason Biggs shared that the cycle of substance ab*se did not merely stop there that day. He went on to share with Lorre that he tried to get rid of the bag containing dr*gs one more time after his failed attempt.
Recounting the incident to Lorre, Biggs said that he took the bag containing the substance, drove down the hill from where he stayed, and threw the bag in a stranger’s trash. To make sure that he did not retrieve the bag again, the actor stuffed it inside a used cup of coffee. However, to his disappointment, Biggs revealed that he repeated the process of recovering the dr*gs yet again.
Jason Biggs’ frank and detailed description of his struggles with addiction comes more than 7 years after the actor became sober.
