Former Love Island USA star Hannah Smith has been cleared of criminal charges nearly a year after her arrest for the obstruction of a law enforcement officer and for terroristic threat in Cobb County, Georgia. Smith has been exonerated of all criminal charges as she has completed her anger management classes, community service and got her drug and alcohol screening done.

According to the court documents obtained by The U.S. Sun, on October 13, prosecutors entered a Nolle Prosequi disposition, which means that the former Love Island USA star will not face trial.

The court documents also mentioned that Smith had finished an anger management course, completed 40 hours of community service, and had a drug and alcohol screening, which concluded she didn't need any more treatments. The decision for her exoneration was also influenced by the filing's statement that Smith had no prior criminal record.

What did Hannah Smith do?

According to the police records obtained by PEOPLE and TMZ, officers were called to the scene when Smith was being "disorderly by yelling and screaming."

According to reports, Hannah Smith was attending a Gracie Abrams concert at the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta on 30 September 2024. Reports claimed that she looked intoxicated and had allegedly hit an emergency medical staff on the arm, but the staff chose not to file a report.

Smith allegedly tried to kick and punch and kick the arresting officer, Officer Kayla Winkfield, when she was being led to her Uber, but she failed to make contact. Officer Kayla Winkfield's statement in the report read:

"Smith, who was still yelling, cursing, and dropping items out of her purse, began to walk toward me and attempted to punch me. However, before she made contact I grabbed her arm and put her on the ground and placed her under arrest."

According to the officer, she tried to kick multiple times when she was on the ground, but it didn't connect:

“While in handcuffs she also attempted to kick me multiple times.”

Smith allegedly threatened to "kill them both" and repeatedly threatened to kill the officer and her sister while she was being taken to the Cobb County Adult Detention Centre. The warrant read:

“Said accused did threaten to commit a crime of violence. While said accused was being transported to Cobb County Adult Detention Center she stated she was going to kill me and my sister multiple times with the purpose of terrorizing said victim.”

According to a source, Hannah had yelled at the cops:

“B**ch. I can't wait to kill you, you dumbass, ugly bitch 'cause you're f****** fat, and they love us skinny b**ches 'cause you're f****** Black, and I hate Black b**ches so I can't wait to kill you and your sister, you dumbass b**ch.”

Hannah Smith's legal response and bail conditions

Mike Hawkins, Smith's representative, told TMZ that the reality star has no memory of the events that “occurred during, or after the concert.”

He added:

“Hannah is deeply troubled by these events. She regrets any actions she took that offended anyone, including law enforcement.”

Hannah Smith was released from the Cobb County Jail the next day on an $8,000 bond, which included submitting random substance tests and prohibitions on alcohol, marijuana, and non-prescription drug use.

Life after the incident

Hannah Smith distanced herself from social media after the incident. She opened up about her problems and her desire to embrace sobriety and faith on Instagram. Hannah Smith wrote:

“I’ve now been sober from alcohol for 8 months. And most importantly, I formed my relationship with God. I started going to church. And on February 9th, 2025… I was baptized."

She continued:

“Being in the public eye opened the door to both praise and pain—Love from strangers, but also judgment, hate, and ridicule. As the year came to a close, my life felt like it was falling apart. I found myself in a dark place, where doubts crept in. I questioned my worth, my purpose, and at times, I wasn’t sure if I could keep moving forward.”

The reality star even admitted that social media was a tough place to be in. She later deleted her account. Before deleting, Hannah Smith wrote:

“Social media became a dreaded place. I struggled with extreme anxiety. I didn’t leave my house for months. I felt completely lost. But even in that darkness… something inside me knew there was more to my story. What feels like the end might just be the beginning of something beautiful.”
