Andrew Shue is back in the public eye thanks to his new relationship and his podcast. The former Melrose Place heartthrob had retired from acting, played professional soccer, started business ventures, and wrote a book.

Andrew Shue made more than 200 appearances on Melrose Place as Billy Campbell in the 1990s, where he was part of the cast that appeared in all seven seasons. Outside of soap opera, he appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's The Rainmaker (1997), in which he costarred with Claire Danes as an abusive husband.
After Melrose Place, he retired, only to make a comeback in the 2007 soccer drama Gracie, which he co-wrote, produced, and starred in. After his last performance in Goal III (2009), he stated that he felt uncomfortable with self-promotion and had no intention of returning to acting.
Andrew Shue also played soccer professionally. He was a Regional All-America soccer player and played for Queen's Park FC while studying in Scotland. He then went on to play for the Bulawayo Highlanders in Zimbabwe when he went there to teach. During his time there, he won the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title.
In 1996, while at Melrose Park, he also played for the L.A. Galaxy in the MLS and assisted on a goal in five games. However, he was injured for the entirety of the next season and did not play for them again.
Andrew Shue pursued entrepreneurship after acting. He was a co-founder of CafeMedia and CafeMom, a mother-focused online community that is still in operation today. These platforms, which featured blogs, forums, and incentive systems, were inspired by his first wife's parenting experience. Additionally, he is one of the founders of DoSomething.org, a charity that promotes social change driven by young people. He co-wrote the children's book Better Together with his now-ex-wife, Amy Robach, and presented the parenting podcast, Mad Life.
Romance among the cast

According to TMZ, almost four years after claiming to have split up, Courtney Thorne-Smith has filed for divorce from Roger Fishman. Thorne Smith also appeared on Melrose Place with Andrew Shue. She recently talked about her experience filming Melrose Place and her brief affair with Shue in an interview with PEOPLE.
She could still clearly recall their first moments together, especially the famous one in which Alison, her character, sees Billy (Andrew Shue) dancing. She said, while smiling:
“I [do] remember shooting with Andrew for the first time. When he's dancing — you can actually see it in my face — how charmed I am. I was being completely charmed by Andrew in that moment. It was so adorable. So I just remember him and him coming in with this sweet, sweet energy and how much fun it was to do that with him.”
She also talked about their dynamic on the show. She said this while speaking to Shue on Still The Place podcast:
"Do you remember me having to talk with you because the characters were still dating and you and I weren't dating So we'd been broken up for two months and then we had to kiss. You remember me saying, 'Okay, now we're professionals, no tongue?'"
She added:
“Because we were dating before we were dating on the show, then we were dating on the show after we broke up in real life. But you and I segued into friendship really well. I don't remember a lot of tension.”
Andrew Shue confirmed her feelings and talked about how the two remained supportive of one another even after their split.
“Yeah, our relationship, we helped carry each other through a very intense time. The show got a lot of attention. I know you had already been fairly well known, but we were dealing with a lot of, we'll call it Fox celebrity craziness."
He added:
"And I remember just feeling safe knowing we were together guiding each other through it."
Andrew Shue's life after Amy Robach:
Andrew Shue had been married for 12 years to Amy Robach, host of Good Morning America. They had a blended family during their marriage: Robach had two daughters, Ava and Annalise, while Shue had three sons from a previous marriage.
Following the end of their marriage in 2022, Robach's affair with co-host GMA3 anchor T.J. Holmes came to light. Despite claiming to have previously split from their marriages, Robach and Holmes came under fire over allegations of adultery.
On her new podcast, Amy & TJ, she revealed:
"They outed our relationship. They didn't out an affair. They didn't out cheating."
She added:
"They outed a relationship that, yes, we wanted to keep private until our divorces were finalized. But we were well into the process of our divorce, and we thought we had a right—or at least an option— to have a few months of privacy while we were putting all of our affairs in order."

In a plot twist, Andrew Shue is currently dating Holmes' ex-wife, Marilee Fiebig. According to reports, the pair started dating in the summer of 2023 and appeared together on the red carpet at the Grassroot Soccer World AIDS Day Gala in December 2024.
In the latest episode of Still the Place, Andrew Shue gave the world an update:
“I'm doing very well. I am very happy. My kids are all great, and I'm working on a project.”
To say the least, Schue has lived a very interesting life!
