Ashley Hollis and Mickey Lee got into a feud about race after Big Brother Season 27 ended. Following the season finale, Mickey Lee claimed that she was the only "traditional Black woman" on the show.

"I do believe that Ashley is African American as well, but we do come from different backgrounds. When I say traditional Black girl, I mean the ones that people always stereotype."

Lee later clarified that "traditional" was the wrong word, and she meant "stereotypical Black woman."

Ashley Hollis responded to Lee's comments by posting a TikTok video in October 2025, where she can be seen dancing with her parents and pointing out familiar traits and race:

"When a castmate from your season does an interview saying you're not Black. Looks like two black parents to me."

Following their feud, Mickey Lee's family shared news of her death on December 26. Mickey died after a "series of cardiac arrests" while being in the ICU, as per a GoFundMe page created on December 22.

What text did Ashley Hollis sent to Mickey Lee before her death?

After Mickey Lee's parents announced her death in a social media statement, Ashley Hollis shared a screenshot of texts between her and Lee on Instagram. Ashley Hollis mentioned that she sent the texts weeks ago to resolve the feud between the two. In the text, Ashley wrote:

"Hi micky it's Ashley! I wanted to reach out to you! I didn't really get to see you this weekend plusssss I feel like a lot of people (texts blurred). I didn't really wanna approach it in public with fans around and stuff! Bit I wanted to reach out because I honestly don't like the way things have been transpired between us and I did really care about you in the house."

The text continued,

"I don't want beef w u and I don't want the two black girls to be pit against each other I don't like that! So I wanted to be the bigger person and reach out to squash the (text blurred)"

While the post was not received well among Big Brother fans, Hollis deleted the post and took to X to clarify that she only shared the screenshot since fans called her out for posting a tribute to Mickey previously.

Earlier, Ashley Hollis shared a picture of her and Mickey during their Big Brother days and mentioned that she was in "shock" and “disbelief” to hear the news of Lee's passing.
