It has been over two decades since the Jackie Brown actress bid farewell to her showbiz career. Bridget Fonda’s last acting role was in the 2002 TV film Snow Queen as the titular character. Following her final onscreen appearance, The Godfather Part III star suffered a car crash in February the following year.
According to the BBC, it was raining before Fonda’s accident happened on the Pacific Coast Highway. Per the New York Post, police cited speeding on a rain-slickened road as a potential cause behind the crash. Following the collision, the first responders took Bridget to Santa Monica’s St. John’s Medical Center.
Initially, it was reported that the actress suffered minor injuries and bruises. According to the BBC, her publicist, Nancy Seltzer, later revealed that Bridget Fonda had “a slight fracture of two thoracic vertebrae.” The actress recovered and was soon discharged, but she largely stayed away from the spotlight after her accident.
