Lailah Price, the 7-year-old daughter of David Eason’s ex-girlfriend Olivia Leedham, died unexpectedly after a series of hospital visits, according to a GoFundMe created by a family friend.

The news was confirmed by Leedham’s mother in a statement to People Magazine. A close friend of Leedham also shared details through a GoFundMe page launched to assist the family with financial support during this time:

“Our friend Olivia Leedham tragically lost her beautiful seven-year-old daughter, Lailah Price, yesterday, she was in the emergency room several times without a diagnosis, and while in the hospital Friday night, she had a seizure and passed away early Saturday morning, June 7th,” the fundraiser description read.

The description continued:

"Lailah was a bright light in their family and loved life and Jesus very much. Olivia takes pride in supporting her children and providing for them as a barber, but in light of this terrible tragedy, we are trying to raise money to help her over the next few months covering living expenses, etc. as she tries to heal after this tragic loss. Please keep this family in your prayers as they need them moving forward."

Olivia Leedham, who shares a 10-year-old son, Kaden, with Eason, is described as a single mother now navigating grief alongside her surviving child.

David Eason: A timeline of custody battles, legal Woes, and separation

Olivia Leedham had retained full custody of her and David Eason’s son, Kaden, following a custody dispute that concluded in 2019. Around the same period, Eason was married to Teen Mom 2 alum Jenelle Evans. The couple, who wed in 2017, share a daughter named Ensley. They briefly separated in 2019 but reconciled the following year.

Their reconciliation didn’t last. In 2024, Evans publicly revealed she had once again ended her relationship with David Eason. She took to TikTok, stating in a video:

“I filed for separation.”

In a follow-up post, she clarified that North Carolina law required her to file for separation before proceeding with divorce.

Evans had stayed by David Eason's side through years of public and legal turmoil. One of the most controversial moments came in May 2019, when David Eason killed the family dog after it bit their then-2-year-old daughter, Ensley. The incident led to Evans temporarily losing custody of both her younger children. By July of that year, she confirmed to People Magazine that she had regained custody:

“It was a situation where my daughter, her health, her safety was in danger,” David Eason explained at the time, and added,“This was something that nobody wants to ever have to do.”
“The dog was aggressive. Yes, she might not be huge or whatever, but you know when a dog bites a child on the face more than one time, then it should never be around the child again.”
“If you give the dog up for adoption, one day it’s going to be around children again. If you call the authorities at that point, the law says the dog has to be euthanized. I’m not going to pay anyone to euthanize my dog when I could do it myself,” Eason continued.
“I mean, I loved that dog, I still think about her every day. It’s really hard for me. A lot of people put me down for it, they hate me for it, but like I said it was not something I wanted to do,” he said, visibly emotional.

David Eason's legal troubles didn’t end there. In November 2021, he was cited for driving with a revoked license and having an open container in the vehicle.
