Farrah Abraham, who recently made the headlines for her reconciliation with Jennelle Evans, is again in the news. The Teen Mom alum was recently seen posing in a red swimsuit at Las Vegas’ Virgin Hotels, per TMZ.

For those unaware, Abraham made her onscreen debut with 16 and Pregnant Season 1 in 2009, with an episode dedicated to her life story and concurrent struggles. Farrah was a cheerleader at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, when she got pregnant at 17. The MTV show captured the aftermath of the then-teenager’s pregnancy.

While she was filming for her 16 and Pregnant episode, her daughter Sophia’s biological father, Derek Underwood, passed away at 18. According to KCCI (Channel 8), he was involved in a car crash that also claimed the life of his 18-year-old friend Zachary Mendoza. At the same time, Derek’s other friend, Dustin Congdon, was injured after the accident.

Farrah Abraham remembered Derek Underwood in her first memoir

After appearing on 16 and Pregnant, the reality TV star got an opportunity to be a part of Teen Mom. In the subsequent years, Abraham also published her book My Teenage Dream Ended, in which she remembered her daughter’s late father. Recalling her reaction to Underwood’s unexpected death, Farrah Abraham wrote in her memoir (via Us Weekly),

“I got off the phone and tried to calm down, but my mind was racing. Derek was the father of the baby I was carrying inside me. He was my first love, my only true love. Now Derek was gone forever, and so was my happy ending.”

Farrah, who was eight months pregnant at the time of Derek’s death, wrote how she and her daughter visited her late boyfriend’s grave every year,

“Every year, we go to Derek's grave site. We take pictures, we record it, and I have a whole baby box for Sophia with letters and pictures telling how and why things happened, and why I'm here today alone.”

Farrah Abraham has continued to pay tribute to Derek and talk about him on different occasions. In 2022, she posted a video on Instagram on Underwood’s death anniversary from his grave and wrote,

“I never thought this day would come, After one of the best days of my life, I wanted to share from my healed heart after 14 years of not being able to process a traumatic loss I felt accountability (after sharing my loss and I didn’t know how to heal) publicly during a time on tv, online, in my book and over the years - a very big difference over 14 years of loss.”

Abraham acknowledged that she “finally got the peace, healing and inner alignment” she had always dreamt of on her “traumatic loss.” While remembering Derek Underwood, Farrah Abraham advocated a 12-step program for trauma healing.

Recently, Abraham was in the news for talking about her rekindled friendship with Jennelle Evans. The Teen Mom stars, along with Ashley Siren, posted pictures of their dinner at Lucia in Virgin Hotels.

Farrah Abraham told TMZ that Jennelle Evans reached out to her to squash the beef after her standup comedy debut. She also shared how her “ketamine treatments” helped her revive her friendship with her fellow reality TV star.
