SNL alum Jorma Taccone fell from a 20-foot ladder and is unable to walk for at least three months. Taccone shattered his pelvis and detached his sacrum. He shared details of the fall during an appearance on the September 2 episode of the Lonely Island & Seth Meyers podcast.

"There's a barn, and the back half of the barn has a bit white wall. And I was like, oi this is great. We can do a big mural. The mural would be very, very large at the top. The apex of this barn is like 25 feet."

Taccone then borrowed a ladder from his neighbor, who warned him that the ladder was bad and that it didn't have a "footing thing."

"I'm probably 20 feet of the ground on this very rickety ladder and I have it diagonal...I felt it give way and...in this moment my life flashes before my eyes and I'm like, 'Oh no, I gotta get off this ladder.' As I'm falling (I'm) like, 'I'm gonna die." And so I drop...and I fall straight on my butt."

Jorma Taccone then added that he did a lot of "screaming and cursing," keeping in mind that it's his daughter's fifth birthday. He mentioned that he felt "sort of numb," and he hit the ground.

Recalling the ladder fall that left him unable to walk for at least three months, John Taccone said he was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery. He explained that the accident shattered the left side of his pelvis and detached his sacrum from his spine, along with causing several other injuries.

Jorma Taccone said doctors assured him he would be walking again within three to six months and eventually able to return to all his usual activities.

"My doctor came in this morning and was like, 'Oh yeah. If you had hit your heels - if you'd landed on both your heels - that would have been 10 times worse. I'm like, '10 times worse? I didn't know pain at that level was possible.'

Jorma Taccone mentioned that he plans to enter "acute rehab" during his recovery period over the next few months.
