Cops had to interject when Kevin Garnett and his girlfriend, Teare Candelier, got into a heated argument.
TMZ broke the news today, May 5, that the pair were involved in a heated exchange late last month, prompting a call to the cops. However, the outlet has reported that both parties are claiming the situation never got so dire.
Officials told TMZ Sports that Garnett's beau dialed 911 just before 2 AM on April 27 to claim that the pair had gotten into a domestic spat at their home in Los Angeles. However, by the time cops arrived, Garnett had taken off, but they took down a report anyway.
The report claims that Candelier refused medical aid after she was asked if she needed it. No arrests were made, and Marca has reported that there was no physical violence involved.
Per the outlet, sources familiar with the situation claimed the NBA star left the premises to de-escalate the situation, and that he shoved his partner away from the doorway while doing so. However, she was unharmed.

In the days following the incident, Kevin Garnett and Teare Candelier issued a joint statement addressing the same in the hopes of clarifying what had happened and how they stand in their relationship:
"We deeply regret that a personal disagreement escalated and inappropriately involved authorities," the statement read. "It was never our intention to involve others in a moment that should have remained private. Like most couples, we have disagreements, but our commitment to each other remains strong, and we move forward with renewed respect, understanding and love."
Notably, the incident is a first for Kevin Garnett, who has largely kept his private life out of the public eye since he chose to retire from professional basketball in 2016 after a two-decade stint in the NBA. In 2020, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
He is known for having played for 21 seasons in the league, most famously with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics, where he won the 2008 NBA Championship. He also nabbed the NBA MVP award in 2004, and in 2008, was dubbed Defensive Player of the Year.
In the years since, Kevin Garnett, a 15-time NBA All-Star and four-time All-NBA First-Team selection, transitioned into serving as the host of his very own podcast, KG: Certified. On it, he discusses the NBA and current events, and is often joined by longtime friend and former teammate, Paul Pierce.
