A January birthday celebration for one of Kodak Black’s children reportedly led to a dramatic fight, and the Wilton Manors police has now arrested Maranda Johnson, one of Kodak Black’s children’s mothers, over her alleged role in the incident on August 7, 2025.

According to WPLG News, tensions flared after three of the four women with whom Kodak shares children were present at the same event. The gathering, already fraught with awkwardness, reportedly turned physical when Johnson confronted one of the women and allegedly struck her in the face.

TMZ later reported exclusively that a man was seen with bleeding facial wounds but he refused to give police further information. The entertainment outlet also noted that Kodak did not invite the three mothers to the venue.

Kodak Black’s family tree spans four women and five children, People has reported. His first son, King, was born to Jammiah “Maya” Broomfield. With Maranda Johnson, he has a daughter, Queen Yuri, and a son, Prince. His daughter Princess Isabella is with Daijanae Ward, while his youngest, Prince Vulture, is with Janice.

On January 15, 2025, the rapper, real name Bill Kapri, brought those four mothers together for a celebration at The Manor nightclub in Wilton Manors, Florida. Police say the night turned sour when the women began arguing, an exchange that ultimately became physical.

Earlier this week, Johnson was arrested on five felony criminal mischief charges tied to that night. Complex reported she was taken to Broward Main Jail, held on $12,500 bond, and later released.

Authorities claim the fight involved two of Kodak’s other former partners and resulted in thousands of dollars in property damage. In their report, officers quoted a witness saying,

“(A witness) stated while the mothers were arguing and trying to fight, one of their brothers, (redacted), got involved in the argument and that’s how the entire fight started. Once (redacted) got involved, so did Kodak Black’s entourage.”

Items allegedly damaged included a computer screen, a sink, a toilet, and a printer. After her arrest became public, Johnson took to social media to share her perspective.

“The reason that it’s getting brought back up today is because a man is mad they have to help be a father to his children, so he’s doing everything in his power to break me.” she alleged, according to HotNewHipHop.

Attorney for Kodak Black responds after ex accuses rapper of being absent from children’s lives

Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, has issued a strong rebuttal after the rapper’s former girlfriend, Maranda Johnson, made serious accusations about him on social media.

According to iHeart, Johnson who shares two children with the Florida artist, claimed in Instagram Stories that Kodak had been absent from their children’s lives for more than a year, leaving her to care for them “physically and financially.” She also alleged she was “scared” of Kodak, accusing him of sending people to throw acid in her face.

Cohen called those statements “made up stories,” insisting there was evidence showing Kodak had financially supported and bought gifts for his children.

“The rest is pure fiction from a very selfish young lady,” Cohen wrote.

He went on to say,

“I didn’t want to comment on this young lady committing defamation which we will sue her for, but also for the over 150k worth of damage she did to 7 cars and smashing a window of the house that had his kids inside. She fought another mother of kodaks young child hurt the child and the mother at a b day party that kodak paid thousands of dollars for his daughter.”

Cohen’s statement referred to a series of incidents over the past year. Johnson was arrested last summer on charges of burglary with assault or battery and grand theft following an alleged altercation with Jammiah “Maya” Broomfield, the mother of another of Kodak’s children. Weeks later, she was accused of damaging multiple vehicles belonging to the rapper, posting photos of the damage online, and reportedly challenging Broomfield to a fight.

Cohen alleged Johnson’s most recent claims were part of a “money grab” and said she was preventing Kodak Black from seeing his children unless he paid a large sum of money.

“It is truly disgusting how fathers are treated as cash cows, she is already being sued for the admitted damage to the vehicles and home. She will now be sued for defamation. I really wanted to stay on the sidelines on this because it’s family law. But now I will have to show why you don’t threaten my clients.” Cohen shared.
