Marc Maron, 61, is an American comedian, writer, and Podcaster. He was in a relationship with indie film director Lynn Shelton for about a year until her demise due to an unidentified blood disorder in May 2020. Before Shelton, Maron was married twice, Mishna Wolff (2004–2007) and Kimberly Reiss (1997–2001).

Lynn Shelton was an Indie film director whose works include Humpday, Your Sister's Sister, and more. Her directorial work is not limited to just films. She also worked on various series. For instance, he worked alongside Maron on GLOW, a Netflix series.
According to USA Today, Lynn Shelton also directed episodes of various popular series like Mad Men, Fresh Off the Boat, Little Fires Everywhere, and The Mindy Project. Shelton was 54 years old when she passed away.
According to a USA Today article from May 2020, Marc Maron shared in his podcast at the time that Lynn passed away due to "a previously unknown, underlying condition."
WTF with Marc Maron was launched in 2009, and since then, they have had about 2000 episodes that have featured not just stand-up comedians as guests but also actors and even politicians (Barack Obama was once a guest on the show in 2015).

According to The Guardian, Maron and Lynn Shelton met each other for the first time in the WTF with Marc Maron, though they did not get into a relationship until later. According to the publication, during their first meeting, Shelton was married, and Maron was dating somebody else.
According to The New York Times, though the courtship began between the two when Shelton appeared in WTF, they had only been officially dating for about a year when the unknown disease claimed Shelton's life. According to the publication, Maron shared that,
"I had her on the podcast and she was very charming and eloquent about her own process and who she was. I got her and she clearly got me. That was the beginning of something that became rather intense."

It is further stated that Maron and Shelton kept their relationship low-key in the initial three to six months. The two were also living together during the COVID-19 quarantine, and Maron was with her when she collapsed due to her disease. Her death certificate shows Acute myeloid leukemia as the cause of death.
According to The New York Times, Shelton was involved in many projects with Maron, like Sword of Trust, Too Real, End Times Fun, Maron, etc.
