What happened to Woody Harrelson and Bill Maher's cannabis dispensary? Smash-and-grab caught on surveillance video

Woody Harrelson and Bill Maher’s The Woods WeHo was burglarized over the last weekend, the WeHo Times reported. According to the outlet, multiple suspects broke into the celebrity-owned cannabis dispensary and consumption lounge on May 17, 2025, at around 4:30 am.

Elliot Lewis (@catalyst_ceo), former CEO of Catalyst Cannabis Co., shared surveillance footage of the incident, claiming that the “Jack Boys” robbed The Woods WeHo. In the video, the five unidentified people in hooded clothing broke the glass front door to enter the dispensary. They are then captured vandalizing the place and stealing products on camera before fleeing.

Lewis added that the Jack Boys also tried to target ERB Markets in West Los Angeles but were met with resistance from a security guard. The suspects were seen escaping in their cars as the guard opened fire on them. Elliot Lewis addressed Woody Harrelson in the caption of his post, as he wrote,

“Our heart go out to Samba and Woody and their entire crew. Back to back robberies shots fired just another weekend in LA. Does nobody care about the people trying to build something up and they seem to only care about those trying to destroy. Make it make sense. Please bring back some common sense.”

Lewis also warned the burglars in his video, as he is heard saying at the end,

“Years of bad policy have led us to this. There has to be consequences for the Jack Boys. Somebody is gonna get hurt. Somebody is gonna get killed. Let’s get some common sense and bring back some deterrents.”

Law enforcement is yet to provide an update on the incident. As of this writing, it's unconfirmed whether both incidents were related or isolated.

The Woods had its grand opening in WeHo (West Hollywood) in May 2022. Laura and Woody Harrelson along with Bill Maher, John McEnroe were the big celebrity names who co-founded the legal cannabis dispensary.

At the same time, Erba Markets co-founders Devon Wheeler and Jay Handal and Schoos Design CEO Michael Berman, also served as co-founders for The Woods WeHo.

During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in February 2023, Woody Harrelson described his marijuana dispensary as “the most beautiful” in the world and said,

“It's the most beautiful dispensary in the world. After that, I can't promise anything. But there is a ganja giggle garden out back, where you can go out there and, um, giggle.”

The Woods WeHo is located at 8271 Santa Monica Boulevard and features a “lush garden lounge” for outdoor smoking alongside private “cabana-style smoking rooms.”
