Sophia Laufer and Jake Van Emburgh are officially a couple!
The Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, renowned for her dance sequences at the AT&T Stadium, went Instagram official with Van Emburgh just this week. The 21-year-old shared sweet photos of herself and her new beau, who is a professional tennis player in his own right, with the caption:
"what my heart's been up to the past 3 months... ."
For the unversed, Van Emburgh, 26, currently charts at 913th on the ATP Tour. The Florida native worked his way up the ranks, beginning with playing college tennis at the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated in 2021. He now competes professionally in ITF Futures events.
According to his Instagram, he is based in Naples, Florida. Us Weekly has reported that he also played for a season at Ohio State University as a graduate student. Furthermore, tennis runs in Emburgh's blood as his father, Greg Van Emburgh, competed on the ATP Tour for a decade. His career peaked when he charted at No. 28 in the world.
Here's everything we know about Sophia Laufer
Marca has reported that Sophia Laufer's soft launch comes amid her NFL offseason, where she kept herself busy by performing at this year's UDA Nationals. She completed her third season as a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys just this January.
Ahead of the start of the season, Sophia Laufer took to social media to appreciate her family and friends for their support:
"I couldn't be more lucky to have the best family and support system in the world!" she exclaimed in August 2024. "Having you here for these special moments makes my heart SO happy! I will cherish these memories forever!!"
The month before that, she took to Instagram once again to share a milestone: making the squad for the third season.
"Feeling SO lucky & blessed to wear these boots for a 3rd season!⭐️🫶🏻🤍 I’m so excited to live out this dream for another year! I cannot wait to make more memories and dance along side my best friends! Love you all the most!!🥰🩷"
Sophia Laufer is most known for having been featured on season one of the Netflix show, America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The season made its debut in June 2024. However, she rose to fame long before that, when she began appearing in DancingwithYT videos.
Women's Health Magazine has reported that she began dancing at the age of two, and as a DCC veteran, her bio states that she taught dance and choreographed for a year after she graduated from high school.
“I love being able to share my passion, training, and love for dance with others," she says in her bio.
The cheerleader celebrated her 21st birthday shortly after, in November, when she took to Instagram to share a carousel of images, offering fans a glimpse into how she celebrated her big day. Sophia Laufer could be seen sporting a pink sparkly dress as she held up huge 2-1 balloons.
