"The Howard Stern Show" which has long been hosted by Howard Stern, is now reported to be up for cancellation after nearly twenty years on air. Howard Stern, who has a yearly income of $90 million, has hosted the popular radio show on SiriusXM since 2006.

According to The Daily Mail, Howard Stern's five year contract of $500 million is ending later this year. However, there is a cloud of doubt as to whether he will continue with the renewed contract that the radio station will offer. In an interview with the outlet, a source close to Howard Stern revealed that he might be interested in greenlighting a renewed contract for the next two years, if the radio station can meet this monetary expectations. They said:

“He may do a 1-2 year contract if they can meet him where he wants financially. He doesn’t want to pull the plug on his employees like this."

Soon after his stint at WXRK ended, he signed his now famous $500 million contract with SeriusXM, which would be renewed every five years. This deal made him one of highest paid radio show hosts in the world. According to The Hollywood Reporter, just one year after he began hosting, Stern was given a bonus of $83 million for helping the radio station cross a subscriber milestone of over 2 million. His memoir, "Private Parts" which was published in 1993, lead to the 1997 movie of the same name. Stern had signed a $1 million contract with the Simon & Schuster Publishing House to write his book. The book occupied the top spot on the New York Times Bestseller upon its release, and the success of the book would lead to further lucrative deals. Howard Stern later signed a undisclosed deal for the rights to the movie based on his memoir, which was a success at the box office.

According to The Thing, Howard Stern also earns income through his various appearances at public events, with estimates of his income ranging from $75,000 to $150,000. He previously also appeared as one of the judges on the popular TV show "America's Got Talent" from 2012 to 2015. According to The Week, he had signed a contract of $15 million with NBC to appear on the show.

At the moment, there is no official confirmation from either the famed radio host or representatives of SiriusXM about The Howard Stern Show's potential cancellation.
