Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, died on Thursday, July 24. TMZ Sports was the first to break the news. New reports reveal that medics responded to a report of "cardiac arrest" at his home in Clearwater, Florida.
According to the outlet, as heard in dispatch audio, the Clearwater Fire Department and Clearwater Police Department were both called at 9:51 a.m. to Hogan's house, where “first responders began performing CPR" on him for 30 minutes. He was then transported on a stretcher to an ambulance and taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Clearwater Police stated in a press conference on Thursday afternoon that an investigation into Hulk Hogan's death is currently underway because it’s “standard” procedure, clarifying that “there is no foul play and no suspicious activity being investigated at this time.”
“[Hogan] was experiencing a serious medical related issue,” they said, revealing that he died at around 11:17 a.m.
Vince McMahon also took to X to pay his respects via a statement that read as follows:
"The world lost a treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world. He was a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon." He added, "His grit and unbridled thirst for success were unparalleled - and made him the consummate performer. He gave everything he had to the audience whom he appreciated, respected and loved."
He concluded,
"He leaves us with one of his favorite expressions, "Train, take your vitamins and say your prayers." Today, we pray for him."
John Cena, Sylvester Stallone, Donald Trump, and Richard Flair have all expressed their condolences and mourned his passing on X. Here's what Flair wrote:
"I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan! Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!"
