What is Jill Scott's new album called? Singer announces first full-length project since 2015

After years of anticipation, Jill Scott has set a release date for her next chapter. The multi-hyphenate star confirmed her first album in almost ten years will arrive Feb. 13, signaling a major moment for fans who have waited since 2015's Woman.

On Friday, Jan. 2, the neo-soul icon took to her Instagram page to announce the exciting news with an orange-laden backdrop behind bold texts of her forthcoming album name. She enthused in the caption:

"Finally my new album entitled TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN drops Feb. 13th!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE and THANK YOU for your patience and your listening ears. Presave link available in my bio now! Much Love, Jilly from Philly."

In two separate carousels, Jill Scott also spotlighted her collaborators, such as record producer Om'Mas Keith, whom she described:

"...is nothing sort of genius. Part of Sa Ra, his production is, soulful, whimsical, and so damn musical. He came to visit and I watched this man create with every instrument he touched. Damn! Easily!!! He played the drums, the keys, the bass, the guitar... I was floored."

Jill Scott revealed that Om'Mas Keith's musicality features in her track Beautiful People, which has been pre-released on various streaming sites. Based on Spotify, To Whom It May Concern will contain 19 tracks.

In another post, Jill Scott also credited her mother Joyce Alice, with whom she collaborated on Beautiful People and three more upcoming songs. The songstress wrote of Alice:

"This is Joyce Alice, my magical mommy. She gave me creativity like you hand somebody an embroidered napkin. She taught me how to hold given flowers. She howed me how to feel music. She shared her imagination. I love you, mom. Thank you for embodying the concept of 'Beautiful People."'

Jill Scott also praised her mom in her caption:

"'To Whom This May Concern' (my new album🥰) had and has a bevy of thoughtful, talented and focused folk to assist me on my work. Sometimes musician, sometimes, just a releasing friend to laugh with. We had fun!!! This 1st song is called 'BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.' Creating takes a village. I'm sharing my beautiful people most literally."

To Whom This May Concern arrives in February, after Jill Scott's 5th studio album, Woman, which was unveiled in 2015 via Blues Babe and Atlantic Records. The singer was also credited with writing all 18 tracks — Wild Cookie, Prepared, Fool's Gold, and Willing Interlude, among others — of the album.

The album also received generally positive reviews from critics, such as the music database AllMusic, which stated:

"...there's enough high-quality content to sustain Scott's status as one of the most unique and powerful voices in R&B."
