Abby Phillips is slamming Jillian Michaels for her false comments on slavery.

The CNN anchor and NewsNight host slammed Michaels in her latest segment on August 19. The move comes after almost a week of heavy scrutiny towards the celebrity trainer for her comments. Phillip, 36, stated:

“Last week, on this show, a guest shocked the table by arguing – in part – that slavery can't just be blamed on one race and that museums put too much focus on the role of White people who participated in that terrible institution.”

For context, last week, Jillian Michaels downplayed the impact of U.S. slavery, claiming “less than 2% of white Americans owned slaves,” contending that it wasn't simply about White people oppressing Black people. In her arguments, she claimed that critics were simply “racializing everything.” She said:

“You cannot tie imperialism and racism and slavery to just one race, which is pretty much what every single exhibit does.”

She continued:

“Did you know that slavery is thousands of years old?”

Jillian Michaels' latest comments about Black slavery explored

In her August 19 monologue, Abby Phillips weighed in on the harsh realities of slavery in the U.S., citing the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture, which is also reportedly one of the several institutions to have drawn the ire of President Trump in recent times.

As reported by The Grio, in a recent post on his platform Truth Social, the president grumbled about how the Smithsonian was too focused on "how bad slavery was." His comments were a contrast to what Jillian Michaels said about him, as she remarked just days before that “[Trump’s] not whitewashing slavery.” “He’s not.,” Michaels insisted, adding:

“You cannot tie imperialism and racism and slavery just to one race, which is pretty much what every single [museum] exhibit does.”

When asked:

“In the context of American history, what are you saying is incorrect by saying that it was white people oppressing black people?”

Jillian Michaels remarked:

“Every single thing is like, ‘Oh, no, no, no, this is all because white people bad.' That’s just not the truth.”

In her monologue, Abby Phillips also referenced Trump's Truth Social post, where she noted that the Smithsonian and other museums "throughout Washington" and "all over the Country are, essentially, the last remaining segment of 'WOKE.'"

She continued:

"What we try to do on this program is create a platform for discussion and debate. Debate that reflects the very real differences that exist in this country. It's what echochambers in our society fail to do, frankly. But on this topic, it's important to say, objectively, slavery was indeed bad. It was evil, the nation's original sin."
