Comedian and actor John Mulaney shared his thoughts about football coach Bill Belichick and his partner Jordan Hudson. On the April 30, 2025, episode of his show, Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, the comedian attempted to recreate Bill Belichick’s recent interview with CBS, without directly commenting on anything about the couple.

For context, on the day of the interview, Hudson accompanied her partner to the set and was seated behind the cameras. When the interviewer, Tony Dokoupil, asked Bill Belichick about his first meeting with Hudson, she interjected, saying they won’t discuss it.

During his show, John Mulaney was accompanied by Richard Kind and Geirsten. On stage, Mulaney mentioned that he expected Kind to have plenty of opinions about surgery. Kind responded by confirming that he did indeed have a lot to say on the topic. However, Geirsten responded from afar:

“No, we’re not talking about that.”

John Mulaney said:

“Oh, hello. Hello, Geirsten. Geirsten is Richard’s girlfriend and she’s now a constant presence in our lives.”

Geirstein replied:

“I am his idea mill and his muse and I will need to see a cut of this before you use it.”

Geirstein responded that the show wasn’t live anymore and joked that Richard’s comments were “pre-taped” and that she would need to see the cut. Richard then said:

“Come on, wouldn’t you give up all your friends for this woman?”

Richard Kind jokingly said he would risk ruining his career and losing his fans just to spend a moment with her. He imagined how amazing it would be to simply watch her use her phone or hear her talking in the bathroom. Mulaney responded by saying it all sounded like a dream.

Here's what Bill Belichick said following the interview with CBS

Richard mentioned they had some fun Instagram-style faces saved, but Geirsten quickly objected, saying those were private. John Mulaney pointed out that her social media account was public. Geirsten asked why she couldn’t have it all, a family, a brand, a business, saying she deserved it more than anyone.

Mulaney asked her not to interrupt the show, but she brushed it off, saying she planned to have friends over later and questioned who the people backstage were. Mulaney clarified they were the show’s guests.

Meanwhile, after the incident, Bill Belichick shared a statement with Page Six, saying he agreed to do a CBS Sunday Morning interview to promote his book The Art of Winning and had made it clear beforehand through his publicist that he only wanted to discuss the book.

However, he was caught off guard when the conversation shifted to unrelated topics. Bill Belichick said he repeatedly asked the reporter and producers to stay focused on the book. He claimed Jordan Hudson, his professional and personal associate, stepped in to help steer the discussion back on track.

According to Bill Belichick, she wasn’t trying to dodge any question, but did what she was supposed to. He criticized the final version of the interview, saying the eight-minute segment misrepresented what had been a 35-minute discussion. He felt the edit falsely suggested that Hudson was trying to take control of the conversation.
