Legendary Hollywood icon June Lockhart has died at the age of 100.

Known for her roles in Lassie and Lost in Space, she reportedly succumbed to natural causes at her home in Santa Monica, California. Her daughter, June Elizabeth, and granddaughter, Christianna, were by her side, Fox Digital has confirmed.

"Iconic and legendary actress of stage and screen June Lockhart dies, leaving a legacy of nearly 90 years of American entertainment history," her rep shared.

The actress reportedly boasted a net worth of $5 million ahead of her demise, per Celebrity Net Worth. She was born on June 25, 1925, in New York City to Kathleen and Gene, both of whom were also actors.

She made her on-stage debut at the age of 8 in the 1922 production of Peter Ibbetson at the Metropolitan Opera House. By 13, she appeared alongside her parents in MGM's 1938 adaptation of A Christmas Carol. In the years since then, she shared the screen with some of Hollywood's giants, including Bette Davis and Charles Boyer.

June Lockhart's life and legacy explored:

June Lockhart was one of the last surviving actors from Hollywood's Golden Age. With a career spanning over eight decades under her belt, she worked on several projects until she retired in 2021.

This past June, when she celebrated her 100th birthday, her June's Lost in Space co-star Billy Mumy issued a health update on her behalf to ReMind Magazine. He said that she was living at home with two assistants, and that although she had taken a step back from the public eye, she was "fine and healthy" and heavily interested in politics.

"She follows the politics, she reads the news, but she doesn't talk on the phone and she doesn't — obviously — she's not going to put on all her makeup and go out and do a convention or anything anymore, but she's, well, she's fine. She's healthy."

Jon Provost, who worked with June Lockhart on Lassie, echoed the sentiments. He recalled an instant from a few years prior when the late actress got into a yoga pose despite being over the age of 90 at the time. When he asked her how she managed to look so youthful, he recalled her telling him:

"I once asked her how she stayed so young-looking. She said, 'I've had great work done and some young boyfriends'. Whatever her formula, it worked. June has always been her own person.… And now she is 100 years young. She is truly amazing in every way."

However, June Lockhart's career was not without its controversy. Back in the early 1970s, when she was 47 years old, she began dating fellow actor Bob Corff, then 21. They were together for over five years.

'It is amazing,' Lockhart told reporters at the time. 'So many women are having the same delightful good fortune that I am—to be loved by a young person.' Her daughters, Anne and June Elizabeth, were supportive. Anne, then 19, joked, 'Don't hog him, mother!' Lockhart said the dynamic worked: 'They come to me for motherly advice, and since he's not far from the teens himself, they ask Bob for his point of view. He is an old soul, older than me.'

According to the International Business Times, despite their eventual split, June Lockhart looked back on their romance fondly:

'The young man and I had a glorious relationship,' she said. 'We were together for about five and a half years, and I wouldn't take anything in the world for that experience.'
