Kelly Ripa made it clear she had no intention of censoring herself on Live With Kelly and Mark. During Wednesday’s broadcast, the longtime host pivoted from reminiscing about a childhood friend to addressing the studio audience with an enthusiastic:

“Bras! Bras, everyone!"“Bras are older than you think,” she told them, clarifying, “And I don’t mean just my bra. I mean bras.”

Ripa then joked that hers were “thousands of years” old because:

“They don’t get a big workout. I’m not asking a lot of them, if you know what I’m saying. You know what I mean? Basically, I wear my bra to hold my microphone on. That is why I wear a bra, not to hold anything else, because there’s nothing else there.”

Turning back to the audience with a laugh, she added,

“I don’t care if you’re offended. Shut it! But, that is why I wear a bra, just to put a microphone on. So, I don’t ask a lot.”

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos keep the laughs coming with lighthearted chat

Mark Consuelos could barely keep it together on Live With Kelly and Mark. As Kelly Ripa continued her cheeky remarks about her chest size, her co-host and husband bowed his head into his hands, laughing. The cameras even caught one audience member doing the same, unable to hold back at Ripa’s comments.

“I used to like the ones that had the little snaps in the front,” Consuelos shared.

Kelly Ripa grinned and told viewers, “he was very good,” at that, prompting applause and cheers from the crowd.

“I was so impressed, I was like, wow, I mean, this guy knows his way around a bra,” she added.

Consuelos teased that his wife’s bras resembled “a tank top” more than traditional lingerie. That remark set Ripa off on an impromptu history lesson, where she cited research tracing undergarments back to ancient Greece, and mentioned another example from medieval Austria she jokingly dubbed “breast bags.”

The playful exchange was nothing new for the couple. Just last month, Consuelos told Ripa she needed a “toddler-sized” workout vest for exercise support. She turned to the crowd for backup, declaring,

“That’s right, my audience, an audience of witnesses!”

Kelly Ripa reveals reason behind her and Mark Consuelos’ time away

According to the Daily Mail, Kelly Ripa began co-hosting Live with her husband, Mark Consuelos, in 2023, after the actor stepped in to replace Ryan Seacrest.

In recent weeks, both have been absent from the morning show, though the reasons were far from dramatic. Kelly Ripa took time off for a summer getaway, leaving Mark Consuelos to share the stage with guest co-hosts, including Jenna Dewan. Consuelos also missed several episodes, which Ripa explained was because he had been “working on a show out in LA.”

Married since 1996, the couple shares three children, Michael, Lola, and Joaquin. But despite appearing side by side on television, Ripa told E! News in July,

“We don’t really see each other very much, believe it or not. It just seems that way because when you see us, we’re on TV together. But we’re not really that.” she explained.

She went on to say,

“We work together in the morning, and then we really have very separate schedules and very separate lives. Our interests outside of our talk show in the morning are really quite different from each other.”

Still, the host added,

“We do come together at night. We have a nice dinner, a nice meal together.”
