Kristen Bell has limited the comments on her Instagram post following criticism for her caption celebrating her wedding anniversary to Dax Shepard.

The Nobody Wants This actress took to Instagram this week to share a photo of herself, straddling her husband. Bell, who tied the knot with Shepard in 2013, wrote a caption that quickly drew flak online:

"Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: “I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.”❤️"

Fans flocked to the comments section to accuse her of perpetuating misogyny, while others surmised her relationship with her husband is not healthy. Some even claimed that, although Kristen Bell meant it as a joke, such a caption could have harmful ramifications for young women.

Kristen Bell has been making headlines this week as the second season of her and Adam Brody's show Nobody Wants This premieres later this week on Netflix. During a conversation with a reporter for Entertainment Tonight, the Frozen actress was asked about her anniversary, which she humorously forgot.

"Tomorrow, Friday, is…" the reporter said, beckoning the actress to finish the sentence. "The beginning of the weekend!" she responded after a pause. "What is it? What is it? The 17th… the Wrexham Charity Gala?" A moment later, she tried again: "Is… the… oh my God, it's my anniversary! You know I don't remember that. Oh shoot, I'm so glad that you told me."

However, Kristen Bell pointed out that she wasn't the only one to forget:

"It helps that he doesn't remember, either," she said of her husband. "And no one's at fault here, right? We're just not great with dates."

She also shared that her husband was "at home watching our children," but she wasn't sure how they would be marking the occasion:

"I don't know if making mac and cheese counts as prepping for the anniversary," she said. "But we are having a date night tomorrow, so we can celebrate."

The actress began dating her husband in 2007, and they tied the knot 6 years later. They have since welcomed two daughters, Lincoln and Delta.

Elsewhere in the segment, Kristen Bell gave her two cents on maintaining a healthy relationship. According ot her,

"sitting in discomfort, because vulnerability is uncomfortable" is highly important in a marriage. "It's hard to say what your needs are," she continued. "It's hard to say, 'You hurt my feelings, and here's why.' It's also even harder to say, 'I hurt your feelings, and here's why.' So sitting in the uncomfortable feelings and realizing that just like anything — cooking a great meal, going to the gym and getting a six-pack, whatever it is — those things take hard work, and relationships are no different."
