Memphis Garrett's real name is Robert Garrett, as per an arrest record viewed by People. The Big Brother star is reportedly facing legal trouble for allegedly embezzling over $50,000 in state taxes.

The Broward Sheriff's Office confirmed to People that Garrett was taken into custody on May 15, after the Department of Revenue issued a warrant for the reality star.

As per the arrest record, Garrett allegedly failed to pay more than $50,000 in sales tax and is charged with a first-degree felony for theft of state funds. People also confirmed that Garrett's $15,000 bond is pending, insinuating that he is still behind bars.

As per a probable cause affidavit obtained by People, Memphis Garrett is accused of failing to pay $55,366.77 in sales tax from his LLC Poke House Lauderdale from November 2022 to October 2024.

Garrett made an appearance on Season 10 of Big Brother, and was the 2nd runner up of the show. Garrett owns the Garrett Hospitality Group, which is known to handle Ya Mas!, No Man's Land, Point Break, and Blue Wave Sushi in South Florida, and Lady May in Chicago.

As per the outlet, his LLC comprises of two businesses, The Poke House, and No Man's Land Miami LLC.

Big Brother season 10 alum, Memphis Garrett's recent arrest comes a year after he split from wife, Christmas Abbott, whom he met during the reality show. According to TMZ, Garrett filed for divorce from Abbott, on March 1, a week after his domestic violence case. While it is not clear who filed the case, it is clear that the divorce was filed in relation to the domestic violence case.

As per the court documents obtained by TMZ, Garrett cited, "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for their breakup, and also claimed that Abbott should not receive any alimony from the divorce.

While speaking to the separation, Abbott talked to TMZ, saying,

"It is unfortunate that the actions and intentions of individuals involved in this situation have led to the exposure of personal and sensitive infromation. I believe that matters of this nature should be resolved in a private and respectful manner. I ask for privacy at this time to focus on my family."

Garrett also addressed the divorce in a second statement to TMZ, where he said,

"My head hurts. I didn't want to file for divorce. I was doing everything in my ability to strengthen our marriage. I only wish the best for her and (her son) Loyal."

Memphis Garrett is yet to comment on his recent arrest.
