Milo Manheim is getting candid on why meeting Ethan Slater had him more star-struck than Ariana Grande.

During an exclusive interview with People in 10, the Zombies actor and executive producer, 24, opened up about meeting the Wicked couple after he wrapped up his off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors in NYC alongside co-star Liz Gillies.

Noting that Grande, who is a friend of Gillies, and Slater, who worked on the SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage! visited the set that day, he said of whom he liked meeting more:

"The answer was Ethan," he explained. "Because when they walked in, it was kinda funny. I was like, 'Hi Ariana, nice to meet you. Ethan, my brotha! What’s up?' Cause I saw him as Spongebob, I love that guy."

He added:

"And also I think that, I dunno, Liz has talked to me about Ari for so long that it was just like, I felt like I was meeting one of Liz’s old friends and Ethan Slater, you know what I mean?"

Manheim also spoke about Liz Gillies and Ariana Grande's bond. The two worked on Victorious during their child star days and have remained close ever since:

"Ariana came to see the show. It makes such sense that they are friends. They're both such kind souls, both such theater girlies," he said, per the outlet. "Like it was, it was really nice to see Ariana there supporting Liz, and I could see them just being like little girls again enjoying being in the theater."

Milo Manheim talks about his Zombies series, working in theater, and what fueled him to do better

During a July 10 interview with Variety, Milo Manheim said he is itching to get back to theater days after he wrapped up his last show:

"I absolutely hope to do more theater. The plan is, the goal if you will, is to go back and forth between film and theater for the rest of my life. I love them both so much," he told the outlet.

The actor's Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, which he executive produced, made its debut just recently, though, if another opportunity for Broadway called to him, he would jump at it:

"Just Broadway in general is calling my name. I can hear it all the way here in L.A. But I’m sure I’ll be back on that New York stage at some point," he added.

Milo Manheim has been with the franchise since its first 2018 installment alongside co-star Meg Donelly, having acted as Zed and Addison, respectively. However, the actor has made it clear he has no plans of abandoning his role for anything else:

"I absolutely will be involved with ‘Zombies’ for as long as it exists, absolutely behind the camera," Manheim said. "And then we’ll see what the ‘Zombies’ universe calls for. If it needs more Zed and Addison, I’m sure we’ll be back. And if not, then I think we had a pretty good goodbye this movie. We’ll have to see."

Milo Manheim, who also competed for a season on Dancing with the Stars, has an array of credits to his name, including movies, Thanksgiving and Journey to Bethlehem, and the show School Spirits. USA Today has reported that he is the son of Camryn Manheim, an Emmy-winning actress:

"It fueled everything. It fueled my drive, my excitement, my passion. It also fueled my fear, for sure, but that's the best part of it," he said of how his show inspired him to work harder at theater.
