In recent years, Mitchel Musso has kept a low profile, away from the prying eyes of the public. He gained fame when he was cast as the trusted and sweet natured best friend of Miley Cyrus in the hit Disney show, "Hannah Montana."

After that, he went on to land several voiceover roles, including "Phineas and Ferb," where he voiced the character of Jeremy. He was later cast as Brady, one half of the pair of fraternal twins, who along with his brother, suddenly discover they are the heirs to the island of Kinkow. The show ran for three seasons, but his character was written off the show with only a guest appearance in the final season. This was allegedly due to his DUI arrest in 2011. According to People Magazine, Mitchel Musso was arrested on the charges of drunk driving, but was later released after posting bail.

The next few years, Mitchel Musso maintained a low public profile, and focused on self improvement. In a 2022 interview with The Buzz, Mitchel Musso revealed the reasons for his break. He said:

"I started working at a young age, and while many of my peers kept going non-stop, I needed a break to figure things out. I realized I wasn't truly happy—I was always searching for something more ... I needed to learn how to just be. That break also gave me the chance to spend time with family members before they passed away ... However much time I took off, it was necessary for me to become who I am today ... to grow as a person."

Back in 2018, Musso posted a throwback picture with the cast of "Hannah Montana."

Later, in 2021, Mitchel Musso posted a health update on his Instagram, saying:

"The one on the left I was 119 pounds sick depressed and broken. The photo on the right is me today 160 pounds mentally and physically rebuilt stronger than I was before. People talk. But proof is in the progress. Don’t let people get you down. These are real results. It starts with you. I am here for you if you need any type of help getting started.”

Mitchel Musso, who is also a singer, now largely focuses on his music career. In 2022, he released his first single in a long while, titled "DRANK" with his last album being released in 2010.

Just a year later, in August 2023, Musso was arrested on the suspicion of theft and disorderly conduct, according to Entertainment Online. The former Disney star, appeared intoxicated when he entered a hotel in Texas and opened a bag of chips without paying for it.

In a statement to Entertainment Online, Musso who was later released on a $1,000 bond, denied the charges and said:

"The truth's gonna come out. I've never stolen anything in my life and did not steal any chips nor was I drunk or drunken or drank or inappropriate to anybody inside that hotel."

Later in November, the charges against Musso were dismissed by the court. In a statement to Entertainment Online, he said he believed that the truth would come to light and that he was now focusing on his upcoming album. He said:

"Despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, my sincere wish is for the well-being of everyone involved as we move forward. My current focus is on the completion of my upcoming album, and with the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike, I am now also directing my attention to forthcoming film and television projects,"

Mitchel Musso has remained away from the public eye since the 2023 incident, but he is currently working on his next studio album, although no new updates have been posted about the same.
