Polish CEO Piotr Szczerek is facing backlash on the internet after a video of him snatching an autographed cap from a child at the recent US Open went viral.

Piotr Szczerek, who has since been identified as the owner of a paving company in Poland called Drogbruk. The debacle involving Piotr Szczerek explored:
According to Dexerto, following the wave of intense backlash, Piotr Szczerek issued a statement (that has since been deleted) on Poland’s GoWork forum:
“The recent incident at the tennis match has caused a disproportionate online uproar. It’s all about the famous hat, of course. Yes, I took it. Yes, I did it quickly. But as I’ve always said, life is first come, first served,” he claimed.
“I understand that some people might not like it, but please, let’s not make a global scandal out of the hat. It’s just a hat. If you were faster, you would have it. Regarding online hate, I remind you that insulting a public figure is subject to legal liability. All offensive comments, slander, and insinuations will be analyzed for the possibility of taking the matter to court. In the end, chin up, hats off, less venom, more sportsmanship.”
Piotr Szczerek's business ratings have since dropped to as low as 1.4 stars out of 5, the outlet has reported.
As for the young boy, after news of the incident broke out and Majchrzak caught wind of it, he took to his Instagram stories to enlist the help of his followers. He asked them for any information about the boy, noting that he had plenty more caps to hand out.
"After the match, I didn't record that my cap didn't get to the boy... Could you help me find the kid from my match?" he penned on IG.
It didn't take long for him to issue an update confirming he had found Brock, and not long after, he also shared a photo of himself with the child. They'd met up on Saturday, and the tennis player gave him another autographed hat.
"Hello World, Together with Brock we wish you a great day!" Majchrzak captioned a photo of them.
