NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, in an interview on Today, explained how global star Taylor Swift might possibly perform at the next Super Bowl. Though he didn't right off the bat confirm anything, Roger hinted at the fact that if the singer, who recently got engaged to Chiefs' Tight End Travis Kelce, was interested, then they would for sure welcome her with open arms.

In the interview with hosts Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie, Roger said,

“We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent. And obviously, she would be welcome at any time.”

When asked if Taylor Swift would perform during the game that will take place at the San Francisco 49ers’ stadium in February, he kept his answer ambiguous.

“I can’t tell you anything about that,” he replied.

He further added an update on when a potential announcement will be out.

“I’m waiting on my friend Jay-Z to be able to help me with that one. It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for the smoke to come out.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's engagement

Taylor Swift and the NFL star announced their engagement news in a collaborative Instagram post on August 26 with a cute caption,

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married"

Since then, there have been multiple updates from the people around them about their engagement and future plans. A source close to the two told PEOPLE magazine,

"Taylor and Travis have been in celebration mode ever since the engagement. They are not in the wedding planning phase yet."
They added, "Right now they just want to enjoy being engaged and they are going to take their time with it. It has been a relief not having to keep it a secret anymore, and they are glad it is out in the open."

While Kelce's dad, Ed Kelce, made an appearance on the Australian radio show The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma, sharing details about the proposal.

“They were going out to dinner and she was ready to go and he said, ‘Let’s go out in the garden on the patio and have a glass of wine before we go. I think she knew something was up because as they walked out there, she could see, suddenly, there were a lot more flowers out there," he said.

Travis also spoke up about the engagement for the first time since it happened on this week's episode of his podcast.
