According to Lee, Chase is a huge Lord of the Rings fan, and he believed that his meeting with Astin might help him accept treatment and get off the streets. Astin played the role of a personal motivator for Chase.

A report in TMZ indicated that Lee spoke with Chase via FaceTime on Christmas Day who described his experience with Astin as positive. Astin is currently president of SAG-AFTRA. He is famous for portraying the role of the loyal hobbit Samwise Gamgee in the Peter Jackson film.

Who all stepped up to support Tylor Chase besides Sean Astin?

In addition to Sean Astin, many of Tylor Chase’s former co-stars have publicly offered or provided support amid his struggles with homelessness and addiction.

Daniel Lee Curtis, known from Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, provided immediate aid to Chase. He assisted the 37-year-old by buying him pizza at a restaurant and checked him into a local hotel room during the holiday season. He shared a clip from his meeting on his Instagram. The caption read:

“Tylor Chase and Cookie reunite with Ned on FaceTime. Well fed and safe from the rain. Hotel secured! One step closer to long term treatment. PS: Tylor wants to livestream video games. Who can help?”

Lee also elaborated on his plans to establish a trust where people could donate funds to assist Tylor Chase. He also shared that he has been looking for rehabilitation programs. Despite this, Chase reportedly trashed the room (eg, flipped the fridge, placed the microwave in the bathtub and left the door open) and returned to the streets shortly after.

Shaun Weiss, the former Mighty Ducks star arranged a room for Tylor Chase at a rehabilitation facility called at Eleven 11 Recovery in San Clemente. Weiss told TMZ that Chase could enter the rehabilitation program through scholarship which could remove financial obstacles that often prevent people from getting help in the time of need.

He took to his Instagram and urged his followers to find him and establish contact with him. He recently took to his account that they located him and have been working to get him into treatment.

Other co-stars like Devon Werkheiser, Loni Love and Lindsey Shaw expressed deep concern for Tylor Chase. Werkheiser, who played Ned Bigby in Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, expressed heartbreak over Chase's homelessness. He described him as a "sensitive, sweet, and kind kid" from their popular sitcom. He noted he hadn't seen him in nearly 20 years since the show ended in 2007.

Love, a comedian and former Ned's Declassified co-star, posted on social media praising Daniel Curtis Lee and Shau Weiss’ efforts to help Chase. She wrote in a post on X:

“I worked with Tylor on Ned’s decades ago. He was a bright child and it’s heartbreaking to see him in this state.”

Shaw, who is also a former co-star of Tylor Chase from Ned's Declassified expressed empathy and a desire to help during a podcast discussion after viral videos showed his homelessness. Shaw played the role of Jennifer Mosely on the show.
