Scarlett Johansson graced the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival's Eleanor the Great premiere on September 6 in a custom Valentino gown.

The light, rosy pink gown was backless and flaunted her back tattoos. The next day, the actress attended the Sony Pictures Classics TIFF Celebration Dinner at Morton's The Steakhouse on September 7 and wore an office-inspired outfit.

Scarlett Johansson paired a black-and-white pinstripe suit with a sheer black lace bustier top, topped off with a pair of black pointed-toe heels. She styled her hair back in a sleek bun and matched it with a bright red lip. The actress was present at the TIFF premiere of her new directorial debut, Eleanor the Great!

The movie features the story of Eleanor, who moves to New York City for a fresh start at 94. The movie is set to hit the theaters on September 26.

While speaking to the Toronto Star about attending the 2025 TIFF, Scarlet Johansson said that the event feels more like a conversation than a runway. She stated,

"It feels like less of a runway and more like kind of a conversation, I guess. But I don't know, we'll see how it goes. You start to feel the buzz when certain moves have premiered and you can hear people talking about them in the hotel lobby and it's happening."

Scarlett Johansson recalled the last time she was at TIFF, she was with director Noah Baumbach for Marriage Story. According to Variety, while talking about her directorial debut, Eleanor the Great, at the Cannes screening of the film, Scarlett Johansson said,

"When you make a film that’s an independent film like this, no one’s doing it for the money surprise, surprise."

She then opened up about the cast members, including June Squibb, who plays the role of the protagonist Eleanor,

"Really, everyone that came together for this film came together because they loved the story, the script so much. It’s a film about many things: it’s about friendship, it’s about grief, it’s about forgiveness. And I think those are all themes that we can use a lot more of these days.”

The film received a six-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Tory Kamen wrote the screenplay of the film.

Johansson produced the film with Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn for These Pictures; Kara Durrett, along with Jessamine Burgum for Pinky Promise, and Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler of Maven Screen Media. Justin Baldoni's Wayfarer Studios co-financed the film with other collaborators.
