Scheana Shay isn’t holding back in My Good Side, and now Jesse Metcalfe has been pulled into the mix. The reality TV personality reflected on a brief romance with the John Tucker Must Die actor in her new book, which continues to make waves among fans and former flames alike.

In a passage shared by Us Weekly, Shay said the two dated in 2007.

“It felt like I was living a real-life fantasy with this guy I’d watched on TV and in movies for years,” she wrote.

She described their time together as fun, though noted their relationship didn’t take off immediately.

“Soon after we first met, he went to rehab, so we started hanging out often only after he finished.”

According to Shay, Jesse Metcalfe invited her to the Cloverfield premiere shortly after his treatment and joined her for a birthday dinner soon after.

“I vividly remember sticking to water and Red Bull all night as a way of supporting his sobriety,” she recalled.

As per Us Weekly, when asked about the book, Jesse Metcalfe didn’t have much to say, yet. He noted that he had just found out about the book.

“I just became aware of the book, like, a couple days ago, so, no, I haven’t read it yet,” he shared.

Jesse Metcalfe found himself reflecting on his past with Scheana Shay during a recent appearance on misSPELLING, the podcast hosted by Tori Spelling.

Responding in real time to Shay’s comments from her memoir My Good Side, the John Tucker Must Die actor acknowledged the reality star’s kind words.

“I know. She spoke highly of me, which was nice,” Metcalfe said.

The actor admitted he hadn’t told his current girlfriend, Helene Immel, much about the brief relationship, saying, “I tried to keep [it] from her,” while she listened in on the podcast.

Jesse Metcalfe confirmed that he and Shay had dated, albeit briefly, nearly two decades ago.

“We were dating. I mean, overall, it was pretty brief, but we were seeing each other on a regular basis,” he said.

He explained, that they met through her boss, someone he had known from the gym.

“So her boss and I went to the same gym. And he had mentioned that she thought I was handsome, and we ended up going out, and the rest is history,” he shared.

A day after Shay’s interview with Page Six to promote her book, Jesse Metcalfe joined the outlet’s Page Six Radio for a follow-up chat. When told Shay had mentioned her past romances with “Hollywood hunks,” Metcalfe laughed.

“She did alright, didn’t she? I mean, this was almost 15 years ago, maybe even close to 20 years ago,” he continued.

“So, hopefully, that’s not the most relevant thing about me, that I dated Scheana Shay 20 years ago. But I have fond memories of that time. She’s a great girl, I’m really proud of her and happy for her success.” he shared.

As per Us Weekly, Jesse Metcalfe admitted he hadn’t gotten around to reading Scheana Shay’s book, he acknowledged her positive comments didn’t go unnoticed.

“It’s always nice when people speak highly of you, it’s better than people speaking ill of you.” he shared.
