Selena Gomez has been considered one of the most successful entertainers of her generation through a multifaceted career in acting, music, and business.

Her net worth was said to be in the billions in recent years following the astronomical success of her makeup line, Rare Beauty. But according to new reports, the 32-year-old star’s net worth might not make it into the ten-figure territory.

Bloomberg had reported that Gomez’s net worth in 2024 was around $1.3 billion, but in 2025, as per Forbes, she is worth around $700 million. The rift also comes at a time of financial stress for Wondermind, a mental health startup Gomez co-founded in 2021 with her mom, Mandy Teefey, and entrepreneur Daniella Pierson, who left the business in 2023.

Forbes’ recent investigation into Wondermind found that payroll has been an issue at the company, with multiple payments not provided to its employees and freelancers.

A source has confirmed that nine people were laid off earlier this month, and only four people remain on staff. Teefey has stated that she had taken a personal loan out on her home to help run the business.

While the organization has stated that unpaid debts have now been paid, the financial straits have led to increased scrutiny of Selena Gomez’s role and investment in the startup. According to the Daily Mail, Gomez, who co-founded Wondermind, was supposedly not significantly involved in its daily operations.

More about Selena Gomez's beauty brand other streams of revenue

Gomez’s largest financial asset is her share of Rare Beauty, the makeup line she founded in 2020. She holds an approximate 51% stake in the company, which has become well known in the beauty industry, thanks to its viral popularity on platforms like TikTok.

Rare Beauty reportedly pulled in $367 million in revenue in 2023. Based on industry estimates and current market conditions, Forbes estimates the company’s total valuation at $1.3 billion.

Outside of her beauty brand, Selena Gomez has made an estimated $90 million over her career in music, acting, brand partnerships, and producing.

This includes extravagant deals such as her $30 million partnership with Puma in 2017 and her role as executive producer and star in Hulu’s critically acclaimed hit comedy “Only Murders in the Building,” for which she reportedly received about $24 million (Daily Mail).

She also received critical acclaim for her role in the Oscar-nominated movie Emilia Pérez and for producing the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.

Selena Gomez also derives wealth from real estate. In 2020, Gomez bought a mansion in Encino, California, for around $5 million. More recently, she and her fiancé, the music producer Benny Blanco, were said to have purchased a $35 million estate in Beverly Hills.
