Shakira may be one of the wealthiest Latin pop stars on the planet, but her latest move proves her greatest currency is compassion. As per Celebrity Net Worth, her estimated net worth of $300 million. The global music icon is now turning her attention — and her tour earnings — to a cause close to her heart: Helping the victims of the devastating floods in Central Texas.
Performing in San Antonio on July 5 as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, Shakira announced she would donate a portion of the show’s proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, an organization providing urgent relief on the ground:
“Our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in Central Texas. We are donating a portion of tonight’s show proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing disaster relief to the families impacted,” the singer posted on X.
It is a powerful gesture from a performer whose influence has never been confined to the stage. As per Mirror, the deadly floods have already claimed over 80 lives and left entire communities reeling.
"I can only think of their families" — Shakira responds with action

As reported by KSAT, Shakira expressed her sorrow for the victims of the floods:
“I just landed in San Antonio, devastated to hear the news of the floods, the deaths, and the girls still missing. I can only think of their families and their immense pain,” she noted in a social media post, which was written in Spanish.
The singer later confirmed Catholic Charities as the main recipient of her donation.
This is far from Shakira’s first brush with humanitarian work. She previously donated $40 million to rebuild infrastructure in Peru and Nicaragua after a massive 2007 earthquake and provided ventilators and N95 masks to hospitals in Barranquilla during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her Pies Descalzos Foundation, founded in 1997, continues to fund education and nutrition programs for underprivileged children across Colombia.
A career fueled by global hits and lucrative deals

Shakira has proven that financial empires can be built on more than patrons and dancing: With stadiums around the globe, her office, and 12 studio albums released over four decades, she became a multi-millionaire first through a $300 million partnership with Live Nation in 2008 for ten years and later with Hipgnosis Songs Fund in 2021.
Beyond music, Shakira has expanded her portfolio with coaching stints on The Voice (earning a reported $12 million), real estate holdings across Miami, Barcelona, and the Bahamas, and even a private island venture with fellow artists.
Her songs, from Whenever, Wherever to Waka Waka, continue to rack up streams and licensing deals, keeping her earnings impressively high year after year. In 2019, Forbes ranked her among the top-earning female musicians globally with an annual income of $35 million.
