Sharna Burgess denied online rumors that Dancing With the Stars had a toxic work environment. Burgess took to her Instagram story to deny the rumors, and said that they do not accurately represent her experience on the series, and blamed it to the rising criticism from viewers.

While answering a question on what she thinks "DWTS toxic" means, Sharna Burgess said:

"I have never heard of this but I'm gonna have to assume The fandom (some not all obvi). It's certainly not the show itself or the people on it. Gosh I hate seeing those two words together it's so sad but yeah the online hate is just another level these days."

Sharna Burgess went on to add:

"On the flip side so is the online love and adoration. It's the ying and yang...the balance I guess. Where there are more people that love something there will also be more people that don't. And with how popular it is again with this second coming every mad and his dog wants to go viral with their 'hot takes' while most of them would cry for a photo with any of the people they speak so poorly of if given the chance."

Who other than Sharna Burgess has addressed rumors about DWTS being toxic

Sharna Burgess is not the only star on Dancing with the Stars who has addressed rumors about the show having a toxic work environment, pro couple Alan Bersten and Emma Slater few days ago also denied the rumors. On an appearance on December 2 episode of House of Maher podcast, Emma Slater said:

"I don't want to dwell on it too much, but there was like an article that came out that was like, 'Oh, toxic energy in Dancing with the Stars', and that could not be further from the truth. Everybody on the show has such a collaborative, supportive atmosphere."

Corey Feldman had earlier in November claimed that there was intense "behind-the-scenes drama." However, he went on to clarify that he was referring to the online hate in a statement to People on November 22.

"Everyone associated with the show - from my fellow cast members to the pros, crew and production team - has treated me with nothing but kindness, support and respect."

He continued that his issue has "nothing to do with the show itself" and refer to "outside commentary, rumors and individuals who are no longer directly involved with DWTS."
