Steve Burton's ex-wife, Sheree Burton, has dropped her former husband's exact six-figure monthly earnings in their ongoing custody battle.

As reported by Us Weekly, back in April, Sheree demanded that her 54-year-old former husband shell out $25,000 to incur all court and legal fees. However, Steve's lawyer has revealed that she dropped the request recently, though the filing is rather thorough.

Sheree, 47, said in the filing, “[Steve] is an actor and earns income from other business ventures. He earns approximately $100,000 per month.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the General Hospital star has a net worth of about $3 million. He is best known for portraying Jason Morgan on the soap opera, though he also played Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless.

Steve Burton and Sheree Gustin's legal battle rages on: Here's what's new

Steve Burton and Sheree Gustin were married from 1999 to 2022. During that time, they welcomed three children together: son Jack, born in 2006, and daughters Brooklyn and Makena, born in 2014 and 2003, respectively.

In her filing, Sheree lamented her inability to cover all the legal fees:

“On the other hand, I am self-employed as a fitness coach. My expenses from my business exceed my income. Therefore, my only source of income at this time is from interest and dividends from what remains of my half of the community property estate, which I invested.” “I am currently using that income as well as a portion of the capital to pay for all my living expenses with our daughters, as well as with my new husband and our children together,” she said.

Steve and Sheree's custody battle began last year, when the latter accused his former wife of violating their agreed-upon divorce settlement, making it difficult to see his daughter. He also accused her of shifting from California to Tennessee with their kids, forcing him to follow suit. However, she moved back to California shortly after, he claimed.

At the time of their divorce, Steve Burton was ordered to shell out $12,500 per month in child support, though this amount dropped when two of their children turned 18. Their youngest, Brooklyn, is currently still a minor.

In his filing, Steve Burton claimed that he, too, moved back to California to be closer to Brooklyn and share equal custody. However, he claimed that his former wife made it difficult for them to do that. Sheree shot back, claiming that Steve Burton was seldom around:

“Since separation, Brooklyn has lived exclusively with me,” she said. “Despite [Steve] living within miles of us and eventually one mile away from us, he rarely spent time with Brooklyn, and he never asked for any overnights with her except vacation or for holidays,” she continued. “I was and continue to be the parent who manages all her day to day activities of life.”

Sheree added,

“On the other hand, [Steve] only spent one to two dinners with her per week for about an hour at a time. He occasionally took her to and from school. The only overnights he had were for holidays or vacations, until we recently agreed to an every other weekend schedule.”

She also claimed that since they split up,

“[Steve] could have spent a great deal more time with Brooklyn had he wanted to. However, he chose not to. Therefore, any claim that I have acted as a gatekeeper is disingenuous.” “When there has been any pushback from me regarding [Steve’s] time with Brooklyn, which is rare, it is because his requests were either made at the last minute with an expectation that we drop out plans to accommodate him or he forced Brooklyn to repeatedly travel to different time zones.”

More recently, she has also accused him of dragging the case out.

Steve Burton and Sheree opted for divorce weeks after news broke out that the latter was pregnant with someone else's baby. According to a recent filing, the actor, who has since tied the knot with Michelle Lundstrom, slammed his former wife for her alleged affair.

“Sheree has seemingly forgotten how our family ended up in his situation. It was Sheree who had an extramarital affair, became pregnant with another man’s child, and immediately moved him into her home after our separation, without informing me she would be doing so.” Steve added, “The sudden change in family dynamics had to be incredibly confusing and traumatizing for Brooklyn, who was only seven years old at the time.”

Steve Burton’s lawyer, Sarah C. Clark, told In Touch Magazine:

“Steve maintains that Sheree’s allegations are categorically false. He has, and will continue to, act in the best interests of the parties’ daughter, Brooklyn, which includes ensuring there is frequent and continuing contact with both parents. On May 12, 2025, the Court heard the evidence loud and clear and granted Steve additional custodial time with Brooklyn that Sheree was unwilling to provide.”
