The Under Siege star, Steven Seagal, was seen in Moscow attending the military parade amidst the Victory Day celebrations held on May 9, 2025. @OliLondonTV shared a video of the US-born actor walking through the crowd.

The Hard to Kill star has shared friendly relations with the Russian government for over a decade. According to the Moscow Times, Steven Seagal spoke to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Russia’s state-run newspaper, in 2014. At the time, the Aikido master was shooting a film in Romania. He voiced his support for Vladimir Putin and favored “Russia’s actions in Crimea,” per the outlet.
In January 2016, Seagal received Serbian citizenship, per The Guardian. Later that year, Reuters reported that Putin had signed an order to declare the martial artist-actor a citizen of Russia. Two years later, the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Seagal as “Special Representative for Russia-US Cultural Links, Cultural and Historical Heritage.”
The ministry announced,
“The special representative will perform his duties without any financial remuneration and for the purpose of strengthening direct contacts, mutual understanding and trust between the Russian and American peoples.”
According to Reuters, Seagal received “Russia's Order of Friendship” in 2023. He is also a vocal supporter of the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Above the Law actor has been known for his love for the Eastern European-North Asian country, per Business Insider. In the subsequent years, Seagal displayed his support for Putin and Russia on multiple occasions and even became a citizen. As the Hollywood star favored Ukraine’s invasion, he reportedly wrote a letter to the president.
According to Newsweek, RIA Novosti (a Russian state-owned media) reported about a letter in which Steven Seagal expressed how he was prepared to die for the country and the president. A quote from the letter read (via Newsweek),
“I will be on the side of my president, I will fight on the side of my president and, if necessary, I will die with my president. As for Vladimir Putin, I know what he really stood for and what he tried to do.”
Putin was reelected for the fifth time as Russia's president in March 2024, and Steven Seagal attended the inauguration ceremony. The Marked for Death actor had previously called Putin “one of the great living world leaders.”
