A Sucker Punch Productions artist is currently trending across social media platforms after her post about Charlie Kirk’s shooter went viral. Drew Harrison, who goes by @imodrew.bsky.social on the BlueSky platform, made a joke about the shooter of Kirk and name-dropped Nintendo’s Mario.

“I hope the shooter’s name is Mario so that Luigi knows his bro got his back,” she wrote on the platform.

Drew Harrison was seemingly referring to Luigi Mangione, 27, the man accused of fatally shooting Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, in December 2024 in New York City.

The post has since circulated across X and Reddit and sparked outrage against Sucker Punch Productions. Netizens have even called for the boycott of the video game developer’s upcoming game Ghost of Yotei, which is slated for October 2 release on PlayStation 5.

“Sucker Punch Senior Dev celebrates Charlie Kirk's death. Ghost of Yotei is dead to me now @SuckerPunchProd,” a fan wrote on X.

“Boycott Ghost of Yotei. Zero tolerance for woke games made by woke activists. Keep your wallets tightly shut,” another person wrote.

“Boycott Ghost of Yotei. Don’t give your money to people who praise political assassinations,” a user wrote.

“@SuckerPunchProd fire her, or have your game fail harder than you can imagine,” wrote another.

Meanwhile, others defended the video game company and Ghost of Yotei.

“Who cares they made a dark joke? Ghost of Yotei looks amazing, I can't wait to play,” a fan wrote.

“Let's wait and see how the studio reacts,” a netizen wrote.

Sucker Punch Productions has yet to address the controversy.

According to her LinkedIn bio, Drew Harrison has been a senior staff character artist at Sucker Punch Productions since 2016. She is both a look developer and a texture artist for their games and has also worked in film productions.

Her BlueSky bio reads:

Harrison has also been associated with PlayStation, Lucasfilm, and SCAD Game Development Network, according to her LinkedIn. IMDb states that she is known for her contributions to Lucy (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), and The A-Team (2010).

Meanwhile, her ArtStation profile shows that she has worked extensively on Sucker Punch’s past game and Sony-backed Ghost of Tsushima, the prequel of Ghost of Yotei. Drew previously worked at ILM and Rhythm & Hues, as per cosmicbook.news.

Following the online backlash, Drew Harrison has responded with a few more posts on BlueSky.

“I have been told that the Twitter has noticed me from across the room uwu,” she wrote in one.

In her follow-up post, Drew added, “Some of y’all have never heard of the critically acclaimed Mario Bros franchise by Nintendo & it shows.”

“In her final post, uploaded 4 hours ago, she also called out people. She asked them to stop emailing her employers and instead email their political representatives to "demand gun control immediately."

Charlie Kirk, 31,the founder and owner of the conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA, was shot and killed during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10.
