T-Pain said "nobody is your brother" while calling off his friendship with DJ Khaled. Pain, during a recent appearance in an interview with Club Shay Shay released on November 26, was asked what he's learned in his 20 years of career in the music industry. Pain said,

"Nobody is your brother."

Sharpe warned Pain not to comment further. However, the artist ignored the warning and continued saying,

"Nobody is your brother. Everybody's your brother while they can use you. That is the quickest and the most consistent thing that I've learned through this whole thing."

When Sharpe asked if Pain "had to learn that the hard way", Pain agreed and named DJ Khaled,

"Anytime you need me, I'm here for you. Anytime you need me. But nah, bro. It's that brother s**t, nobody is your brother. I've had DJ Khaled and everybody done told me, I'm your brother. Do not believe that s**t."

Pain had earlier collaborated with DJ Khaled on the 2010 hit All I Do is Win. While talking about Khaled, Pain said,

"It's very apparent. DJ Khaled knows how to move. He knows how to do things with different people. It's not a DJ Khaled type of thing. That's just the first person I can think of."

T-Pain says friends in the music industry are not reliable

While talking about DJ Khaled and the word "brother" being thrown out in the industry, T-Pain mentioned that friendships in the industry are not trustworthy. The singer noted that he's helped "so many people" and that he doesn't consider them reliable friends.

"You're my brother. You're my brother. And then none of that s*** was reciprocated. None of that s*** came back. None of that s*** meant anything."

He went on to add,

"When people tell you how much you mean to them, don't grab onto that. When people tell you how much they can mean to you in return, that's the s**t you gravitate towards."

In a June 2013 interview with The Fader, DJ Khaled had complimented T-Pain's talent and said that he's someone who "gets in the booth" and catches a vibe that helps shape the hook of the tracks. The two have also collaborated on several other tracks, including, I'm So Hood featuring Trick Daddy, Rick Ross & Plies, Go Hard featuring Kanye West, Welcome to My Hood featuring Rick Ross, Plies & Lil Wayne.
