Young Thug's attorney, Brian Steel filed for motion to modify Thug's RICO sentencing in Fulton County Superior Court. It is not clear what the modifications requested are. Young Thug and 27 other gang members were arrested in Buckhead in 2022 on several organized crime, weapons, and drug related charges.

Thug was facing eight criminal counts, along with possession of marijuana with intent to distrubite, possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm and possession of a machine gun charges. Thug took a non-negotiated plea deal on October 31, 2024, and was sentenced to 40 years, out of which 5 years were for behind bars, 15 years of probation and 20-year "backloaded" prison term, which will activate if the probation is violated.

What were Young Thug's RICO probation conditions

During the 15-year probation period, Young Thug is required to abide by several restrictions: he's banned from Metro Atlanta for 10 years, except for attending weddings, funerals, graduations, or approved anti-gang events. He is also prohibited from making gang-related music or public references to gangs.

Thug must perform four anti-gang presentations or concerts each year in Atlanta-area schools or community centers, and he cannot have contact with known gang members or co-defendants except for Gunna and his brother Quantavious "Unfoonk" Grier.

He is also subject to random searches, drug testing, social media monitoring and must comply and cooperate with probation officers. If Thug violates any probational conditions, he will have to serve 20 years in prison.

In April, 2025, an Atlanta judge declined prosecutors' request to revoke the rapper's probation and sent him to prison. Fulton County DA Fani Willis in a court filing said Thug reposted a social media meme featuring a photo of an investigator in the DA's office with the caption that accused the investigator of being "the biggest liar in the DA's office."

Willis said that Thug "engaged in conduct that directly threatens the safety of witnesses and prosecutors, and compromises ongoing legal proceedings, and warrants immediate revocation of probation."

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker in an order noted that the social media post does not rise "to the level of a violation of a defendant's probation" but did caution the rapper over his social media use.

As per reports, the rapper has spent more than 900 days behind bars since his RICO and gang related charges. Thug was released from jail on October 31, 2024 after reaching a plea deal.
