NFL star player Travis Kelce sets the record straight amid his recent heated argument with coach Andy Reid. However, the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end, Kelce, also made it clear that he has nothing but respect and love for the veteran coach, who has been training him and the other Chiefs since 2013.

Travis Kelce, 35, who got engaged to the celebrated pop star/actress Taylor Swift in August 2025, took the opportunity to clear all floating rumors about him and coach Reid following what looked like a heated exchange during the September 21, 2025, match against the New York Giants.

According to People Magazine, Travis Kelce, in a Kansas City Star interview on September 26, 2025, about coach Andy Reid, said:

"I love that guy, man. There’s nothing outside of this building that’s going to make me feel any different way. We know exactly each other’s intentions."

Kelce went ahead:

"I think what Coach Reid does best is he challenges guys to be at their best, and I love that about him. It definitely helped me take my game to another level that game."

Travis Kelce, who is also widely known for hosting the New Heights podcast, along with his brother Jason, made it clear that he has no animosity towards the veteran coach. According to CBS Sports, at a press conference after the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants match, Andy Reid said about Kelce:

"[Travis] knows when to back off the pedal and he knows when to push it, too. That's part of what I love about him. The guy’s all in, just sometimes, I have to be the policeman."

Travis Kelce also had an altercation with coach Andy Reid in 2024

While this is not the first time that the NFL star, Travis Kelce, had a heated exchange with coach Reid, in February 2024, during Super Bowl LVIII, something similar happened as well. During a press conference on September 25, Chris Jones, who is the Kansas City Chiefs' defensive tackle, took Kelce's side by calling him a "fierce competitor."

Jones also talked about the recent heated argument between Reid and Kelce, and said:

"Sometimes, in the heat of the battle, sometimes emotions show. Sometimes we have confrontations, whether it's with coaches, players... but I think it's more out of competitive spirit."

Jones added:

"We all want to succeed. It's the nature of this, it's been like that since I've been here and I don't think it's going to change."

Travis Kelce, who has always supported Reid, even publicly, in a February 2024 episode of his New Heights podcast, admitted that he would quit playing for the Kansas City Chiefs if Reid decided to leave the team. At the time, Kelce said:

"I’m a passionate guy. I love Coach Reid, Coach Reid knows how much I love to play for him, how much I love to be a product of his coaching career. I’m not playing for anybody else but Big Red. If he calls it quits this year I’m out of there with him, man."
