Fulton County officials confirmed that an arrest warrant for animal cruelty had been issued against Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson after his dogs were linked to a fatal attack in Buckhead. Police records showed that on Sept. 18, a resident reported that Gibson’s four Cane Corso dogs killed his 5-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Henry. Capt. Nicole Dwyer of Animal Services said the neighbor had let Henry outside for only a few minutes before discovering the dog dead. Security video captured Gibson’s Cane Corsos at a nearby door just prior to the incident.

Authorities said the episode did not end there. Another neighbor dialed 911 soon after, reporting she could not approach her car because Tyrese Gibson’s dogs were blocking her. Animal control officers were dispatched to assist her. The department added that Gibson’s Cane Corsos had been found loose in the neighborhood on at least five occasions in the days before the attack. Officials noted that Gibson did not keep the dogs restrained, despite multiple warnings.

Fox 5 Atlanta reported that on Sept. 22, animal control officers revisited Tyrese Gibson’s property to demand the surrender of his dogs. Gibson admitted that he believed the Cane Corsos were responsible for killing Henry and acknowledged he had known about their repeated escapes. Instead of complying, he requested additional time.

Capt. Nicole Dwyer subsequently obtained both a search warrant and an arrest warrant for animal cruelty. When officers attempted to execute the warrants later that night, Tyrese Gibson and the dogs were no longer at the residence. Authorities stated Gibson was given time to turn himself in. He chose to announce on social media that he was stepping away for a mental health break and planned to return in November. Henry’s owner, Parker, condemned that response.

“So he made a story where he’s like, ‘oh, I’m taking a mental health month.’ You gotta be kidding me. I mean, he should be taking mental health month in jail, the arrogance… it speaks volumes about who this person is, and I hope that, if he has any fans or anything, that they really drink in the reality of this guy’s character,” shared Parker.

Local officials linked Tyrese Gibson case to broader issue of pet responsibility

Local officials also weighed in on the matter. Fulton County Commission Chair Robb Pitts said the case served as a reminder of the obligations tied to keeping animals.

“I am grateful for the work of Fulton County Police Department to bring justice in the Tuxedo Court neighborhood dangerous dog case,” Pitts said.
“After months of being terrorized by these dogs on the loose, community members brought this situation to my attention earlier this month and I personally visited the neighborhood where this occurred. Pet ownership is a responsibility that is not to be taken lightly. Those who allow their dogs to roam neighborhoods unrestrained will face serious consequences,” he added.

Tyrese Gibson said god helped him avoid bankruptcy amid nearly $493K owed to ex-wife:

Tyrese Gibson had shared his private struggles in public, with a message of relief. As reported by Complex, the actor posted a 30-minute video on X where he broke down in tears, saying he was no longer overwhelmed by legal fees. “I woke up this morning with a heart full of gratitude,” he said, explaining his emotions.

Gibson attributed the turnaround to his faith.

“I have been having some intimate and beautiful exchanges and moments with God, and I know it’s him. I know it’s him because it’s impossible that something I thought was on the brink of destruction got turned around,” he shared.

He continued, saying he believed divine intervention had spared him from bankruptcy.

“I’m not the reason I didn’t file for bankruptcy just last week. I’m not the reason that some way, somehow, all of these legal fees that have stressed me out, all of the legal fees that I owe my ex, somehow, just showed up. I’m good, but I’m not that good.”

Tyrese Gibson appeared to be speaking about the nearly $493,000 owed to his ex-wife, Samantha Gibson. Court filings from July showed Samantha had sought to hold him in contempt, alleging he had made “no effort whatsoever” to pay despite having the means. Judges had already ruled him in contempt on three separate occasions in 2023 and 2024. The couple’s 2020 divorce has long been fraught. Gibson publicly revisited that moment in a 55-minute rant last year.

“These are the stairs that I got married on before my ex-wife left me,” he said.
“And this is the same house that I got the news while living in, that not only did she leave me but I got married on these stairs. She packed up all 50 boxes right here in the foyer with six or seven of her friends and she covered up the Ring camera with a COVID mask at the time. This was August 2020 and she left me and she never came back. Cry me a river, right?,” he added.

Speaking on Club Shay Shay, he also admitted the end of the marriage left him “devastated and crushed.”
