Rachel Zegler is receiving some sweet praise from Helen Mirren, who the actress worked with on Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The stars starred as sisters in the DC film, and years later, their bond is as strong as ever as they share supportive words for each other.

Rachel Zegler is one of the many female stars on Glamour's Women of the Year list and as the Snow White actress sat down for a chat with the outlet, she spoke of Mirren, and a few words that served as a wake-up call for the success she has received in Hollywood. Zegler quipped,

“She was like, ‘When I was 20, I would have killed to just be doing what you’re doing. I was surviving meal to meal doing theatre at that time.’ I don’t often feel the need for a wake-up call, but a reminder is really, really important.”

The interview also featured a phone call between Mirren and Zegler, where they talked about their careers, working together and what it's like to be in Hollywood together. As they chatted, Helen Mirren made sure to tell the readers of Glamour about her own experience working with Rachel Zegler. The actress said,

"I had the privilege of working with Rachel on ‘Shazam.’ Lucy and Rachel [and I] were playing sisters, so we became honorary sisters in real life. Lucy and I learned what a wonderful person Rachel is. Occasionally, one would be walking past Rachel on the set and this beautiful little tune would be coming out of her. And it was hearing an angel suddenly in the air around you because she was never performing. She was just singing for her own pleasure, and it was such a glorious thing."

Released in March 2023, Shazam! Fury of the Gods marked the return of DC’s most unlikely superhero, a teenager gifted with the powers of ancient gods and the sense of humor of, well, a teenager. Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film serves as the twelfth entry in the DC Extended Universe and the sequel to Shazam!. Produced by New Line Cinema, DC Films, and the Safran Company, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it brought back the blend of goofy charm and godly chaos that made its predecessor such a surprise hit.

The story revolves around Billy Batson, played by Asher Angel, the foster kid who can transform into the adult superhero Shazam, played by Zachary Levi by uttering one magic word. Now sharing his powers with his foster siblings, Billy tries to balance his superhero duties with the growing pains of teenage life. That balance shatters when three formidable new villains appear, the Daughters of Atlas. Hespera, played by Helen Mirren, the eldest, commands the elements with regal precision; Kalypso, played by Lucy Liu, the middle sister, wields the destructive power of chaos; and Anthea played by Rachel Zegler, the youngest, can shift the very axis of reality itself.

The film is one of Rachel Zegler's most memorable ones, as her sophomore film in the industry. It is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
