"I apologize to my family more specifically my father & mother if any of my actions over the years have embarassed you or affected you in anyway. And to anyone I may have hurt over the years i apologize, including Lapattra Jacobs, even though yes it was self defense i apologize."

She continued,

"i'm not some stuck up entitled spoiled little rich girl...maybe a little mean lol, but i just want to be better especially for my child. i want to right my wrongs while i'm still here and able to, and i want y'all to see the real me and not this f***ed up perception.

More about Yaya Mayweather's altercation with NBA YoungBoy's baby mama

As per XXL Mag, NBA YoungBoy and his baby mama, Lapattra Jacobs, were at his Houston home together when Yaya Mayweather showed up to the property. Mayweather was upset with Jacobs being present at YoungBoy's residence, and the two got into a verbal dispute.

The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, and Mayweather allegedly picked up two knives from the kitchen and stabbed Jacobs twice. Jacobs was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Mayweather shared a son with the rapper, and was also dating him at the time of the stabbing incident.

At the time, NBA YoungBoy was detained by authorities but was let go after being questioned. Mayweather, in her defense, told the police that the altercation stemmed from Jacobs pulling her hair outside the home, before the stabbing incident.

Mayweather's attorney, Kent Schaffer, released a statement to XXL Mag, noting that Yaya was

"defending herself after being attacked",

and that

"her boyfriend and his bodyguards refused to testify, probably due to their own legal problems."

Schaffer also noted that Yaya was to be deferred adjudication for a period of 6 years and will have no felony conviction.
