Amber Heard and Bianca Butti dated in early 2020. It ended quietly after almost a year, allegedly because of scheduling conflicts and the stress of being apart for so long. Heard was going through a lot at the time of the relationship as she was dealing with legal battles with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. Butti had fully supported her during this tough time.

The couple, Amber Heard and Bianca Butti, were first romantically linked when they were spotted kissing in January 2020 outside a Palm Springs hotel. Butti is a filmmaker and a cinematographer, and was present with Heard when she was going through a lot, which included her divorce and legal battles with Johnny Depp.

Heard was going through defamation accusations then.

The couple had a private life, where they would make public appearances from time to time. Amber Heard and Butti would hardly share photos on social media or discuss their relationship. They would often be spotted going out in Los Angeles, and at times at movie events.

When did Amber Heard and Bianca Butti break up?

The couple ended up breaking up soon after as they found long distance hard and different life responsibilities coming in between, as reported by the Daily Mail in December 2021. Amber Heard was busy with her shooting of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in the UK. She was also serving as an L'Oréal ambassador around Europe while settling into life with all the court struggles as a new mother, while Butti stayed in the US and continued with her work on movies in Los Angeles.

According to a source who spoke to the Sunday Mirror, they said the relationship "fizzled out". The source went on to say:

"With not being in the same country for months at a time and dealing with a new baby, it leaves very little time for romance."

In April 2021, Amber Heard gave birth to her daughter, Oonagh Paige Heard, through surrogacy. She seemingly was too overburdened to maintain a relationship as a Hollywood celebrity and single mother embroiled in contentious legal battles.

Bianca Butti supported the actress during her trial

Before the well-publicized 2022 defamation trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, Bianca Butti and the Aquaman star had split up, but Butti continued to be a silent rock of support during the early stages of the legal drama. Bianca kept on supporting Amber Heard even when there was a lot of legal and media pressure.

In Virginia, Depp filed a $35 million lawsuit against Heard for a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she identified herself as a victim of domestic abuse, although she didn't name him. Heard countersued, alleging Depp's attorneys had defamed her in a $100 million lawsuit.

Both sides produced emotionally sensitive material, including photos, medical documents, and unsettling audio recordings.

Their legal battle became a subject of talk everywhere, and it also became a two-part Discovery+ documentary, Johnny vs. Amber, where the show offered both their perspectives in each episode.

Butti went on to offer her side of the story through her book, Hollywood Vampires: Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, and the Celebrity Exploitation Machine.

Bianca wrote:

“It almost sounded like someone else was talking. By the time you tell it a million times you remove yourself from emotional content. I believe all of it. Especially as someone who was her intimate partner.”

She also wrote of an instance that made her realise that Amber Heard was in a violent relationship:

“If I made a sudden move during an argument, she would recoil. It was clear to me that she was in a very violent relationship.”

She added:

“She was trying to stand her own ground and he just wasn’t having it. He was blacked out and drinking, a lot of drug doing, alcohol, and that is always a recipe for disaster.”

After the verdict:

After their legal drama came to an end, Heard stated in a statement, "disappointed" and "setback" for women, while Depp rejoiced with the hearing and said:

"The jury gave me my life back."

Butti showed her support to Amber by posting on Instagram, where she captioned:

"My support goes out to Amber Heard and all survivors of sexual, physical, psychological abuse. What is happening in the media, social and other, is just awful and inappropriate. Amber is someone I am grateful to call a friend and no one who stands up to speak the truth should be treated like this. My heart goes out to her durning these difficult times. No matter what happens."

Amber Heard had relocated to Spain with her daughter, according to Daily Mail, while Bianca Butti continues to work in Los Angeles.
