The second season of Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast’s Beast Games, will be released tomorrow, i.e., January 7. Meanwhile, on January 6, he shared an X post announcing that he and JasonTheWeen will go on a livestream on January 7. They plan to give $50,000 to those watching the second season of the reality competition series. The X post mentioned:
“Dear streamers we’re making episode 1 of Beast Games Strong vs Smart copyright free so you can stream your reactions to it! Also me and @jasontheween will be going live on Wednesday and donating $50,000 to people watching the new season :D”
As seen in the trailer of Beast Games Season 2, a narrator said:
“Big time players make big time plays make big time plays.”
Another narrator said that there would be heartbreaks, twists, and betrayals in the second season. On January 6, MrBeast spoke to Deidre Behar on Entertainment Tonight, where he shared his thoughts about the second season of the show. When asked what he learned from the first season that he liked to experiment more on in the second season, Jimmy said:
“After we dropped season one of Beast Games, you know, I watched hundreds of reviews. I read every review, everything said about it, I absorbed it all. And so the on the positive sides of season one, everyone's like, ‘We love that, you know, the largest sets in history, most contestants in history, the largest cash prize in history. We love the stakes, lots of positives.’ And those are the things we obviously brought back in season two.”
MrBeast said that some people commented on how the factor of “luck” was involved in winning the games. Hence, in season two of Beast Games, he tried to reduce the amount of luck.
What did MrBeast say about spending in the second season of Beast Games?
MrBeast said that the other review he got from the first season is that people would like to know the contestants more. Keeping this in mind, he cut down the number of contestants from 1000 to 200 in Beast Games season 2. He added:
“Even though it goes against everything I do normally, we go bigger and normally I would have gone from a thousand season one to 10,000 contestants in season two, we actually went from a thousand down to 200 because now there's less people, there's more depth and you know I really took that to heart.”
MrBeast explained that for the first season, he had spent tens of millions of dollars of his own money in addition to what Amazon paid. He said this likely made him a very valuable partner for Prime Video. However, for season 2, he shared that covering so many extra costs himself was not something he could keep doing. He also said that spending more money in season 1 did not always make the show better. MrBeast shared:
“And so, I think one of the big learning grounds in season one was also, you know, what money does equal better content and what was just kind of a waste, right? And what doesn't really matter.”
MrBeast said a minor shot of just two people talking in between games can be more meaningful. He said there would be more shots in season two of Beast Games, where they tried to capture candid moments.
