Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was found in D4vd's impounded Tesla, went missing from Lake Elsinor, California, in April 2024.

As per the NY Post, California authorities have identified the decomposed body, which was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered under singer D4vd or David Anthony Burke on September 8. The body reportedly belonged to 15-year-old girl Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

As per TMZ, Celeste's mother mentioned that her daughter had a boyfriend named David. Celeste's mother mentioned that the police description, which said that the body had a tattoo on the finger with the letters 'Shhh...' matched with her daughter's.

What is the viral claim connecting D4vd's Romantic Homicide track with Celeste Rivas?

After the dead body was identified as belonging to Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the internet was flooded with conspiracy theories about the singer's relationship with the 15-year-old.

One such conspiracy theory noted that the release date of D4vd's Romantic Homicide track was on September 7, which allegedly coincided with the date they claimed Celeste Rivas was born.

However, the claim was false since Burke's Romantic Homicide was released on DistroKid on July 20, 2022, and the birth date of Celeste Rivas has not been disclosed by police authorities or by her mother.

On September 8, Celeste Rivas' decomposing body was found inside an abandoned Tesla, which was registered under David Anthony Burke, the singer's legal name. The police officials were responding to foul odor reports when they made the discovery. The body was wrapped in plastic and was not fully intact at the time of discovery. As per the NY Post, the teen was found wearing a tube top with black leggings, a yellow bracelet, and metal stud earrings.

She had a tattoo on her right index finger, which read "Shhh.." similar to one that the singer has.

A spokesperson for the singer, as per NBC News, noted that the singer,

""has been informed about what's happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities."

The singer was reportedly on tour when the body was found, but later went on to cancel his Wednesday gig in Seattle, as per TMZ.

A day after the body was found, the singer was also dropped from Crocs and Hollister's brand campaigns. D4vd was initially featured in brand campaigns, which were a collaboration between Crocs and Hollister, and was launched on September 3. However, after he was linked to the 15-year-old's death, brand content featuring the singer was no longer visible on the brand's websites.
