Eiza González, who has been linked to Tennis player Grigor Dimitrov since April of this year, was seen showing her support for her boyfriend after he was forced to retire from the match against Jannik Sinner due to an injury that he suffered on the right side of his chest.

According to People Magazine, the couple confirmed their relationship in May through a post on Instagram. González posted a picture of them together as she wished him on his birthday.

Eiza González was previously linked to actor Timothée Chalamet back in 2020. According to People Magazine, the pair were together for a new month before going their separate ways in October of the same year. Despite parting ways, the former couple has continued to maintain a good relationship.

More about their relationship, as Eiza González shows support for Grigor Dimitrov after his withdrawal from Wimbledon

On Monday, Eiza González took to Instagram to comment under a post uploaded by the official Wimbledon page, where she showed her support for Grigor Dimitrov after he was forced to exit the match following his injury.

In the video, an injured Dimitrov is seen walking away, teary-eyed, as the match, which he was leading, had to be abandoned after the injury he suffered to the right side of his chest. As he is walking off the court, the entire crowd is seen cheering him on. Due to this incident, Sinner, who is currently ranked World No. 1, will advance to the quarterfinals. The post was captioned as:

"A sight we never want to see. Grigor Dimitrov is forced to retire while leading two sets to love. Everyone at #Wimbledon is wishing you a speedy recovery, Grigor 💚💜."

In her comment, Eiza González wrote:

"A WINNER. He will build an even better story. Stronger inside and out. ❤️."

In an exclusive interview with Extra, Eiza González had earlier revealed how, despite dating Grigor, her own tennis skills had unfortunately not improved. She also praised Grigor for supporting her in her endeavors, and said:

"He’s so sweet. It’s so nice. He’s always so supportive of me and he’s very excited. He's obviously at a tournament right now, so he can't be here. But yeah, I’m just super grateful for him."

She further added:

"Oh my God, not really. I took lessons when I was young and I’m definitely not getting better, and I’m avoiding the whole, ‘Let’s go play together.’ I'm sort of like, 'Yeah, sure! Later. I'm just not feeling it today. My backhand's not as great as his, so I'll try to take some classes before trying to show him."

Apart from her comment, the Baby Driver actress also wrote a longer, heartfelt message for Dimitrov, praising him for his outstanding performance, adding that this difficult moment only reinforced how strong he is as a person. She said:

"Love of my life. I couldn't be more proud of you. You are BEYOND outstanding. This is just a moment that will pass and will make you even stronger. But watching you today alongside the world was a reminder of who YOU are. You're a winner. We all saw it. And you'll do it again. ❤️ I love you @grigordimitro"

According to ESPN, Grigor Dimitrov, who is currently ranked at No. 19, has had a career marred by injuries dating back to 2009, when he first injured his knee. Jannik Sinner, who also sustained a right elbow injury, is now set to face Ben Shelton on Wednesday.
