According to The Guardian, Howard Stern's $500 million SiriusXM contract is set to expire at the end of the year, and there have been claims that the two parties are not expected to sign a new deal. As per an exclusive report by The U.S Sun, Howard Stern's top staffers are looking around for new jobs, as the show is set to be canceled in December.

An eyewitness at SiriusXM's offices, while speaking to US Sun, claimed that they overheard Fred Norris pitching himself for a new gig,

"Fred was walking with another guy at Sirius and said to him, 'Let me know, because I don't know what's going to happen come January. I might be looking for a job."

The insider also added that the staffers are expecting the show to end by December officially.

"After convrsations with (Stern show producer) Gary Dell'Abate and others, it sounds like they aren't expecting to resign with Sirius."

More about Howard Stern's show at SiriusXM

Howard Stern joined subscription-based audio entertainment company SiriusXM in 2004 and contributed a huge deal to the company's popularity in the 2000s. However, in August, it was initially reported that SiriusXM wouldn't be renewing Stern's colossal contract and that Stern's career at the company was nearing its end.

One of the show's workers, while speaking to the NY Post in August, said,

"Most of us have been coasting at work the last year. We know he's retiring, whether by choice or because he's forced out."

One of the employees said that the staff has been looking for other gigs,

"It's been hard, because the industry (in New York City) is so incestuous, so you don't know who's talking to who. I'm just hanging in there until this is all sorted out, and then I will take some time to unwind after all this."

Another staff member, while speaking to Daily Mail last month that employees were "panicking",

"Fear has sunk in that next week, next month, they might not have a job. Getting laid off has been in the back of their minds for quite some time."

Decades ago, Stern's show had a viewership of over 20 million people who would tune in to listen to Howard Stern's controversial comments in the 2000s. However, the influx of podcasts has taken listeners' attention away from Stern's show and satellite radio. As per financial disclosures, SiriusXM lost 445,000 subscribers in 2023 and 296,000 in 2024.
