Next Gen NYC star Gia Giudice is drawing the ire of the internet as she pleads with President Trump to pardon her father, Joe Giudice, who was deported.

Page Six has reported that the elder Giudice was deported back in 2019. He now lives in the Bahamas. Newsweek reported last month that the Bravo star was convicted of federal fraud-related charges, culminating in his being sent back to his native country.

Drawing inspiration from Todd and Julie Chrisley's recent presidential pardons, Giudice took to Instagram on Friday to share a heartfelt post directed at the president:

“Hey, guys, my name is Gia Giudice,” she said in the video. “I’m the daughter of Joe Giudice and today I’m using my voice for something deeply personal. My dad was deported over four years ago. Since then, our family has lived in an emotional limbo. No matter how strong we try to be in the absence of a father, of a parent, it’s something that never stops hurting.”

The 24-year-old continued:

“Growing up, my dad was present at every cheer competition, every dance recital, holiday. He was our provider. Our protector. And he still is, just now from thousands of miles away. Watching the Chrisley family receive a second chance inspired me. It showed me that people can be forgiven, that families could be restored and that sometimes the justice system has room for grace. That gave me hope. Hope that maybe my dad could come home too.”

As reported by Page Six, many of the television personality's followers began slamming her for the post, with scores referring to her as "tone deaf." They pointed out that her father is a convicted felon, and that there are several other families unable to stay together for "far less reasons." Others even questioned her for not visiting her father more.

Gia Giudice's dad pleads with the president for a pardon, says he wants to visit his daughters again

Joe Giudice himself has been pleading with the president for a pardon, as he took to Instagram just last week to pen an open letter:

“I’m Joe Giudice. I served my time, and I’ve been deported from the U.S. for nearly a decade,” Giudice said. “I was raised in Jersey, I’m a father of four amazing daughters, and I just want to be allowed to visit them again. President Trump, I respect you and I'm asking for a second chance," he wrote, alongside the hashtag "PardonJoeGiudice."

He also spoke to Newsweek about his intent behind the post:

"My intention with the post was to speak directly and sincerely to the President, as I've seen him offer second chances to others in similar situations," Giudice said.

Giudice was propelled to fame following his appearance alongside his former wife of 20 years, Teresa Giudice, on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. The pair shares two kids: Milania and Gia Giudice. Joe has kept in touch with his kids since his deportation, as seen in the June 3 episode of the show. At the time, Gia Giudice got a call from her father, who told her:

"Hi Gia. I'm so proud of you, I've been listening to you over here, you're so cute."

Gia Giudice, who then got emotional, noted:

"That was so unexpected. That was so cute, I didn't even know he knew how to do that."

Joe echoed the sentiments, noting:

"You're going to make me tear."

In the episode, Joe also showed Gia Giudice what his life looks like in the Bahamas:

"Everything's good," he said. "You know, just working, doing everything you need to do to get by in life, that's it. You do the best you can."

He also sported a new beard, to which Gia remarked:

"You actually do look good with the beard. As long as you clean it up and don't let it get too long, it looks good."
