English actress Kate Beckinsale addressed her fans after many pointed out that she recently lost weight. In a video posted on Instagram on December 31, which seems to have been taken down at the time of writing, Beckinsale said that she had difficulty eating after her mother’s death on July 15. In the video captured by TMZ, Kate Beckinsale said:“So, as we end 2025, which was a really really hard year. It was also the last year that my incredible mum was on this planet. So, I feel really torn about letting go of it as well. But I just wanted to address the fact that I lost my stepfather a while ago, a couple of years ago and I had already watched my father die because my mum was in hospital and it was just me.”Kate Beckinsale went on to say:“At the age of five, I watched my 31-year-old father die of a huge heart attack and then I watched my stepfather die and then I watched my mother degenerate and die in such an incredible amount of suffering. And I will say it doesn’t make you feel very hungry.”Beckinsale said that it could be a kind of survivor's guilt because she had been feeling this way about eating since her stepfather died. She said it was nothing like anorexia but more of a “willpower thing.” Kate Beckinsale said:“It’s like your body has closed down. I think it’s shock and trauma and I think watching especially alone the people that you love the most dearly suffer and have horrific, sometimes violent deaths really makes you not hungry and I really miss them.”Kate Beckinsale said her mother died in her armsIn the video, Kate Beckinsale said that those who were “inconvenienced” by her weight and the way she looked thin should have parents as she did. Remembering the difficult days Judy Loe went through, she said:“Chest compressions on my mother as they broke all her ribs has not turned me into the kind of cruel piece of sh*t that would say the stuff that a lot of you guys say to me. I absolutely refuse to become like you. And if that’s the legacy from my parents that I would never ever do that to anyone. I am so f*cking proud of it.”On July 18, Kate Beckinsale shared a carousel on Instagram, announcing the death of mother. She wrote that although she was hesitant about posting the news, she shared the same because it would soon become public. The actress wrote:“She died the night of July 15th in my arms after immeasurable suffering. I have not picked all the best photos, nor the best videos, because I cannot bear to go through my camera roll yet.
